I received a Wii U Premium Pack with NSMBU for xmas. Very impressed with the graphics and the controller, slightly disappointed that the Wii mode seems to run in some sort of virtual machine. I expected the Wii games to be able to be launched directly from the Wii U menu.

I'm guessing they must have massively overstocked. Does seem like one hell of a discount though. I nearly bought one from Amazon.fr before xmas but I'm glad I waited a little longer at least .

Now to pick up NSMBU, there's probably not much else I want to play at the moment. Is Zombieu worth picking up?

It's pretty tough, dying then having to collect your stuff from the last person(now zombified) you played as, is a pain in the male chicken.
Especially if you die before you get to loot them and thus lose your stock  .
It's enjoyable though :) , Mario is great, especially if you can rustle up some mates for a 4-5 player( having a game with the kids can be :problem: ).
Takes me back 20 years to SMB on the SNES :awe:

Has the machine been advertised in the UK? There has been no advertising at all here, most people don't even know what it is.

Hmm. :-|

The Console's awesome. Nintendo hasn't disappointed imo.

If I remember rightly, RRP was going to be £200-£250 but the shops pushed for it to be higher.

It is. Nintendo Land is a lot if fun, it makes excellent use if the screen and it's something different to the norm. Mario Brothers U is just **** brilliant as a spiritual relative to the Nes/Snes line. Both games provide same-room multiplayer which is about as good as it gets.

I was in France for christmas and on the 23rd a chain of supermarkets had a deal like : pay 349€ and get 40% of that back on your loyalty card. In the store they had a pile of at least 20 wii u's.

I agree that the console itself is okay, good games ect... But the marketing is disastrous. Let's make another console and have it named and shaped like the last one so that regular people won't have a clue it's new!

Has been a TV ad campaign here, not massive but noticeable.

I doubt I'll pick one up, but should mean the value of the original Wii tumbles to the point I might pick one of those up again. Shame it probably won't get down to GameCube levels (I bought brand new cube for £30 once the system died), but whenever a new system comes out I look to jump on the old one 8-)

The Wii Mini is a bit of a disappointment. I could live without all the other crap, but composite video only!? :eh:
