I've grown a pair and will be attempting a DMG-01 backlight mod myself.

For the price of a modded one I can afford to kill one as a practice if it so happens.

Got a nice looking transparent (1995 version) on the way.

Anyone know if the sound mod is line out only, as I take it that it doesn't go via the volume pot?

There are multiple sound mods, some bypass the amp and others install a different amp. The typical "prosound" one is lineout on the headphone port (meaning headphones don't work anymore)

The GBAmp V3 is the one I'm going for, with a 2W speaker. This one has normal headphone behaviour (muted speaker).

My Dmg screen and bivert thing arrived yesterday ........now where the f did i put those tri wing screw drivers and bits also out of flux so will want to get some more before i go soldering **** !

Found my triwing, fixed the dodgy power switch on one GBA. Opened it up, used a bit of pressure while moving the switch left and right to clean the contacts inside - no desoldering required.

My MGB-001 arrived from ebay. Other than the damage to the lens, that I knew about, its very nice

Played 45 mins of tetris yesterday, now its off to be modded
