Oops didn't realise you already had the PFX and an AWSD.

The part itself was 60euros (which is a bargain I think), I'll see how fast they can make a duplicate (files should still be there).
Don't know about the shipping cost to UK though...

neokoen wrote:The PFX tube fits perfectly in the AWSD. You only need to swap over the two frame bits of the old tube to the new one. Length on both sides of the mounting lugs is the same as the original Wei-Ya and the bezel does not need adapting at all.

I can make another tray if you really (and I mean really) need one.

However, I do have the impression that the geometry got a little worse than when it was mounted on the original frame. Still trying to find the cause of that :( My guess is some parts are magnetised or the aditional tube tilt has something to do with it, at least it's not the speakers.

Is it possible for the frame to get magnetised if so can can it be "degmaged" with a degaus wand ?
I know this is an old thread but i'm interested to know if Neokoen managed to sort out the geometry issues with the Sanwa PFX in the AWSD? I still have the chassis tray ready. My last Sanwa PFX went into my driving cab so I didn't get round to installing one in my Egret 3:- http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7331

Unfortnately the monitor in my Egret 3 has developed a problem in that after it's been on a little while the screen starts to judder left and right by about 1-2 cm then settles for a while before doing it again. I could just send the chassis off for repair, but I'm very tempted to get another Sanwa PFX to put in it.

I would be interested to know what people think about this monitor swap as I know not keeping the cab original can affect it's value. Also what would I get for the old monitor if I sold it either as is or repaired?

Hej Andy,

I just crawled out of my coffin, as you may have noticed I have been 'absent' for a while.
I'm still lurking about but haven't actually turned on my cab for the last month or so...

Degausing all AWSD original monitor fixtures basically solved the problem I had, but just to be sure I unmounted them all and pulled 'em through an industrial degauser of a friendly construction workshop.

I'm interested to know what people think about this monitor swap as not keeping the cab original can adversely affect it's value even with a better monitor.

Any idea what would I get for the old monitor if I sold it with the screen judder or repaired?

Anybody who would pay less for any cab that is equipped with a PFX (or any new monitor) instead of its original monitor and stating that it's less worth without the original deserves to be bitch slapped! Cabs aren't financial investments, they are meant to be played with! :palm:

Totally agree *if* I would sell my AWSD *any* candidate buyer moaning about not getting the *original* Wei-Ya Samsung can take a hike ! (unless the price is right of course ;) )
In my humble opinion my cab is worth more with the PFX and with that professionally looking tray ;) ;) most won't be able to tell the difference anyway.
I still have the *original* tube and the *original* chassis but not with the *original* soldering ;) . I didn't bother putting them up for sale but I'm sure someone might like it to replace somthing broken or necked ;) , they're just completely impossible to ship without frame.
