I thought they'd just applied Metal Slug 2 slowdown physics to the entire game.

Just watched this video and it is pretty obvious these are the old Metal Slug devs. The jump trajectory, grenade trajectory and the style of the machine gun is 1:1 with Metal Slug 1. People say floaty jumps, but they are identical to Metal Slug, which is indeed a bit floaty. Have to admit that I'm mildly excited now, but the 16:9 aspect ratio doesn't look great as there's a lot of screen real estate with nothing going on.

Love the giant mechanical Ape boss and it seems like they're going to implement some humor as the "hostage" can actually free himself, by the looks of it, just like the P.O.Ws in Metal Slug

Completely agree with the apect ratio, everything feels a bit zoomed out too far with the full 16:9 view.

You can see later on in the video there's a black shroud around the edges of the screen, makes it look far more action packed.

The jumps are definitely not identical to metal slug, and if they are then the speed is different or it is lacking some sort of movement transformation animation frames or whatever it is. When i see metalslug i don't think "that jump looks weird", when i see this i do think "that jump looks off". Whatever it is, i hope they fix it. The general tempo seems slightly on the slow side. It does look like it could be a fun game.

It's kind of hard to see in the video but it looks like there's something funky going on with the leg animation with the long forward jump. The legs animate at the start of the jump then go static and it makes the end of the jump look floaty.

Will have to wait for some better footage to get a proper look at it.

Looks like Bionic Commando Rearmed. Don't want to be cruel but it seems like 70% of the screen real estate has no purpose, if the game is just sitting in the middle shooting it will be boring after a couple stages. Seems like a typical Unity engine game to me

Bionic Commando Rearmed was awesome though, i'm still mad at square-enix for killing the studio that developed it.

think people are being harsh here , it looks good , and at least its being designed for 16.9 and not being stretched out , you can see a few scences i.e "where the platform falls " seems to zoom out but thats about it rest looks compact enough from the few snippets we see, i reall like the ape boss ! 8-) i think that it does have a fade /shroud around the edges to soften it .It also looks like it was filmed in gamecube vasolineovision mode is my only complaint ! wither way it on steam and im not going to buy it :oops: :problem:

I'm sure someone said the same about Mighty No.9, I don't know how anyone can cheerlead for unreleased games these days, everything is shovelware until proven otherwise.
