Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
I think I’m going to try a different JVS -> JAMMA IO. I was going to get one from Axun, but it’d take months.
Is there a consensus best one out there (that’s likely to be readily available)?

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
So I just happened to be knobbing around on YouTube today, and I came across this video…
You may recognise the guy who posted it!!
Anyway, the same issue is clearly present. Red triangles across the screen.
Great to see it’s a common issue.
@Monstermug , did you ever get to the bottom of it?

No I sold it many years ago only to rebuy another one decades later for sickening prices.ChrisBEANS wrote: January 28th, 2023, 3:39 pm So I just happened to be knobbing around on YouTube today, and I came across this video…

This is my current batrider.
And for the record I don't remember seeing that issue while playing it. I only noticed it when you pointed it out to me. Seems to show up on camera pretty clearly though. TBH i wouldn't worry about it, its not broken. You can always try a sync jamma corrector adapter.
I think at the time of taking the first batrider video, i had recently necked my nanao and had to use one of those crappy weiya tri sync chassis on a tri sync tube. Picture was pretty bad so maybe that was why i didnt spot it

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
With that being the case, is this likely to assist??
https://irkenlabs.com/jammafier/tri-sync-helper/
Only think on the site that doesn’t actually be available to buy right now. Anyone know of an alternative?

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
I have a spare Tri Sync Helper, but I don't think it'll help I'm sorry to say.
I beleive it's just to attenuate the video signals, so that VGA and JAMMA get output at the same levels. The Konami JAMMA to JVS adaptor you are using already does that, and from what I understand, does it very well.
I just had a quick go at adding the TSH to my Windy 2 setup, and it just made the image really dark as it is attenuating a signal that has already been attenuated. (pics make it look brighter than it actually is!)
Hopefully someone else will be able to suggest a device that could help. Anyone you know locally that happens to have an Invzim Jammafier that you could do a quick test with?

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
(Sorry, only just seen the reply)
Ah man. Thanks for checking!! I genuinely appreciate it!!
I’d really like the Windy II to be my forever cab (along side the U4), but it’s a big deal that I can’t use my most expensive board (and favourite SHMUP) on it.
It’s just one game, and I can still use a supergun of course, but it’s not the same

Just thought, have you tried using the different inputs on the chassis to see if one of them makes a difference?

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
I certainly have not!!
I’ll investigate that next!
Chassis needs a service actually, so this might spur me on to actually doing it
Edit: In the meantime, I'll just have to slum it

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
@ChrisBEANS I think I could gest used to slumming it with that set-up
Is that 'the' B&O with a new front glass if it is then it looks great and assuming no permanent damage to the back I'd guess it was all worth it in the end.

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
That’s the one!! Worked out a treat!!
The back’s absolutely not the same anymore, but it’s only been a couple of months I guess.
Coincidentally helped by a bunch of codeine!

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
Youch! Back problems can end up getting unsuspectingly serious, my brother needed two major back operations last year to sort out a mess he'd made of his back many years before lifting something heavy and twisting at the same time, it got better and then eventually got much worse.
Hope it's nothing too serious, moral of my brothers story is get it looked at sooner rather than later if you think you may have 'tweaked' something. Don't use too much of that Codiene but def put your feet up in that comfy chair in front of the screen

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
@ChrisBEANS bumping this one as I may have acquired some similar equipment recently and looking to do a shelving unit fauxcade setup with CRT like futurematt5 has (if anyone used to watch his shows?). But more recently spotted this lovely example here in this thread and logged it for future reference
Are they a set of Galvanised Steel 5 tier shelves like the ones from the 'Argos of the hardware/DIY world'? assume they are 600 x 900 x 1800 comparing to the lovingly restored Neo handily placed for scale.

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
I think that’s exactly what they are.
From memory, they were about sixty quid from B&Q.
I’ll confirm dimensions next time I’m there.
One thing that’s SUPER important, is that I got a piece of MDF cut to size at the very same B&Q to replace the shelf that the CRT sits on.

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
Was that for rigidity? I have a large PC mousepad in black to site under the B&O to prevent scratching.
The ones I'm looking at were from Screwfix and have MDF inserts by the looks of things and can take circa 200kg per shelf (might be a little more than required for this but has a good safety margin!)
This kind of thing: https://www.screwfix.com/p/5-tier-galva ... 00mm/511je

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
The shelves will be rated for 200kg but the weedy 6mm sheet of MDF they supply for use as a shelf isn't
If you put a solid 200kg load that bears on the sides of the metal shelves it will be fine. If you put something heavy in the middle, not so much. Some shelves do come with a center support but most of the home use ones aren't up to much. I would deffo get a MDF, or (even better) plywood shelf cut to size if you're putting a CRT on it.

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
Ah duly noted (should have guessed as much really). I'll get something sorted once I have the shelves in hand. Better to be safe and 'overengineer' this based on what will be sitting on the shelves and the breakdown I'd have if I came back and found it all in a broken pile

It's pricier but (owning some click racking) I'd go with chrome wire shelving, and stick some ply on to allow the set to slide about without getting caught.

Re: Batrider doesn't like the Windy II??
Probably a good shout to be fair.
Mine does seem to be completely solid, but I always have a nagging worry that I might get home to find it collapsed…
The proper chrome shelving is sturdier and would give peace of mind.
Looks nicer too…

I have one of those b&q shelfs Absolutely loaded to the gills, the middle bracing is a God send, I'm sure I have 4 TVs on it a 29" 21" And 2 14" On the shelf above

<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"
