That's really bad news, hope it dries out without too much damage. Is there much else you can do to stem the water or is just the water table level?

Thanks for the supportive comments. I can't communicate how gutted I feel.

My only real hope is for the water table to drop but that'll take a few months of extended dry weather.

It happened to us once but it was just an underground garage, not in our home.

Ralph, that is such bad news. I feel really sorry for you. Seen so much flooding over the past few months, but it really hits home when you see somewhere you know get hit

I'm so glad you were able to get your cabs sorted beforehand. I really hope things dry out over the coming weeks/months and things can return to normal.

I just told my girlfriend. She was sorry to hear the news. She also said...how about inviting them round here if they can make it...
