I prefer the menu system of the 108-in-1 but of course the 302-in-1 has more games that i personally like - twinkle star sprites etc...

I've seen you're seling it already? Probably the same quality as the 108 in 1. Which means no good.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
I only got the 302-in-1 as i occaisionally sell such things on ebay and needed to know some stuff about it befor i could sell them - how the extra buttons attach, menu etc. I much prefer mame myself as then you can choose excatly what games you have, change all relevant settings and have a nice custom menu - some people prefer the easy board option of the 108-in-1.goatboy wrote:I've seen you're seling it already? As to how good they are, i think you have to remember that many people just want to play the games and see these boards as a cheap and easy way of doing so without messing with a custom pc for mame - i have sold a lot of 100-in-1s, 108-in-1s, 48-in-1s and a couple of 302-in-1s and no-one has ever said they were unhappy, on the contrary they were all very pleased. Of course, they are probably the same people who buy the old woodie jamma cabs on ebay so may not be as picky as the sort of people on this forum...

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
For the more technically inclined its not actually an FPGA on the Happy fish PCB's, it's a Samsung ARM9 SOC very similar to:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arm9-S3C2440-Dev- ... 0376059872
Running at around 500Mhz it shouldnt run too shabby , but yes .. it is still emulation in the MAME sense rather than an implementation in hardware.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
Yeah I had a read up and found most/all of these multi boards are the same, just porting MAME code to ARM7/9. Pretty cheap-**** if you ask me but I guess they'll still sell for those who know no better.
Sure they're small but a PC that would run those games (better) wouldn't cost as much, even with hardware to use in a JAMMA cab.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1

Trust me if u know how run the original game don't buy this 'happy fish' board or u will be sick !! ( excellentcom sell them for about 130 euros ..and i believe that this thing due to low quality component must have a real cost of 20 dollars , not much ....)
- 100 in 1 mvs cart = ok
- 1069/2800 in 1 multigame ( computer based ) = an horrible crap, as long as u haven't setup correctly the emulators options ( filter, sync etc etc ...)
- 108 in 1 = look ok for some games
you want a good advmame version with cps3 drivers then go here : http://x15khz.hp.infoseek.co.jp/
i run it under dos with a 9250 agp ati card + p4 2.8 ghz + jpac ..... ( no difference with original pcb that i own : cps1, cps2, neogeo ...etc etc , when u have build up the good modelines !! )
sorry for my bad english

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
That's pretty much what I was expecting. At the end of the day, the guys who make these aren't fan boys who want to make sure they roll out a quality product, they are looking for a quick to market product and I guess that's what they got. Operators beware!

Thought it would be disappointing! Even worse than the 108 in 1!!! Thanks for sharing. Hope you can sell it without feeling bad.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
I dont think that the 108 in one is that bad, but fighting games are where these things slip up. As already said on this thread, these systems simply are not powerful enough to run fighting games at full frame rate, so people buying these systems for fighting games. . . Dont! Despite this they are able to handle (most) shooters (CPS2 + MVS anyway) just fine, as well as scrolling beat'emups. I personally can not tell the difference between Alien Vs Predator (capcomCPS2) orginal capcom version and the version running on the 108 in one. But as I say, when it comes to fighters (and I am a 1on 1 fighter fan) these things simply do not cut it at all. . . its horrible!

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
Every single game on the 108 in 1 is locked at 30 fps. This makes you feel like crying when you know the originals. Still the only multi pcb i'm really happy with is the 60 in 1 classic. For the rest i try to stick to original hardware / software anyway. Or maybe Xenepps mametopia pcb is going to amaze me.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
So I received this board today and tried hooking it up to my New Astro City. I get no audio/video, and both the 302 in 1 boards green light and red light inside my cab are blinking. I've had this wired to a 1-slot MVS board since I got it, so could there be a wiring issue? The 1-slot still works with no problems, for comparison the red light inside my cab does not blink when the 1 slot is running. Any help would be appreciated, it seems like this is the only place where people are talking about this board. And I don't know much about the wiring of my cab (go figure).
Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
hey guys, quick question for anyone who owns this board...
i have a dedicated SSFII cabinet with a board that needs replacing. rather than buying a new SSFII board, i figured i'd get this one. is it possible to disable all but one game so that one game automatically boots?
thanks in advance.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1
I'm pretty sure that's not possible. People have already said how badly the fighting games run, getting your existing board repaired would be the sensible thing to do. What exactly is wrong with it?
