Finally made some progress :D - Now are ca. 29000 beads on the wall  .
Image

I fixed the blemishes on the other side of the room. There was a cable running along the ceiling on the plaster trough the complete room (ca. 4,5 m). After a lot of chiseling & flexing I made a slit for the cable to fit in. Here it is with the first layer of skim coat - the second layer will come tomorrow (because you can still see the damn cable at some spots) :| .

I think the palette will be around the 35 mark

This project has got me thinking.

Level 3 R-Type mothership :awe: . But after some rough maths i worked out it would be about twelve feet long :palm: . So maybe not.

No progress on the bead front but today I finally painted the room.

I didn't fill the ceiling - all I did to it was a layer of white paint as I wanted one spot were I can still have that "basement" look :awe: .

Next step(s) will be a new laminate floor & interior shutters for the window

And here a picture of random chaos :awe: :awe: :awe:

Painting the room made a massive difference and the shutters and flooring will make the place look mint!

Keep the progress reports coming :D

Edit:

Is that window just made of mesh?

I know it's pricey but could you not get a upvc double glazed with to prevent damp to your machines/interior in the winter?

The window is made of one piece of steel as a grid pattern. In front (seen from the inside) of this steel frame is a glass plate :) . You can open the steel frame with the glass together or seperatly.
So yes you can close this window completely & it's fully functional but IT IS UGLY AS HELL :awe: . But I didn't want the extra work of ripping this window out & build a new one in = that's why I want interior shutters (in black) 8-) .

Not convinced by this keeping it original thing. On this forum we like wood paneling and/or faux marble vinyl finish on all visible surfaces.

The shutters make a big difference and when that carpet gets layed the room will look mint.

What machines are you going to be putting in there?

First I wanted black interior shutters but I got the white ones for free from my uncle = well white looks good also  .
NO CARPET will enter this room - I want a floor similar to this one:

What machines - that will be a suprise :awe: .

I couldn't get a similar floor from my last post (delivery time ca. 7 weeks at the local DIY = :palm:  :palm: ). So I went with this one instead (work in progress pics):

What I have done already :awe: :

What I still have to do :? :

I prefer the floor that you have chosen actually. I'm not sure about the placement of the artwork though, looks like they good be taking up valuable wall space for cabs etc! :D

As I don't have a proper closet yet this is where my games have to rest at the moment :palm:  :? .

Now you may wonder "where are this guys controllers ???" - They are here (all hacked to the same pinout - I can use every console with ONE stick (except the Wii of course) or on the Astro City)

Next worksteps:
As you can see on the third pic this room has NO door :awe: .
And get a proper storage for the games.

Wow, the whole project looks amazing... it's come a long way. I'm seriously jealous, it's just what I imagine my arcade cellar to be like.
