Yep, I get a black screen after the title screen. Pressing start and just leaving it in attract mode.CPS2 wrote:New Gen updated. Anyone tried it yet?

Before I **** up my 2nd impact cart, can I just check.
I've got version D.
I just need to desolder the battery, since I have no wires.

kernow, if you want to purposely zombify your cart, just remove the battery. You can then either remove the black wire entirely or otherwise reattach it to the negative terminal where the battery was. You should leave the red and blue wires in place. The black and grey wires do the same thing, so you need to leave at least one of them in place.kernow wrote:I need to check on that too actually, idc did mine and added a wire to make the battery swap easier next time, I'll have to ask him if it's easy to do
For those with unmodified Tornade carts, just remove the battery, then make sure that the black wire is reattached to the negative terminal once the battery is gone. You won't need to touch the red and blue wires.
For those with normal, CP SYSTEM III (non-Tornade) carts without the extra wires and little PCB, just simply remove the battery.

Regardless of what type of 2i cart you have, leave the soldering iron at home and just wiggle the battery to snap the tags. Job done.

Makes absoluely sod all difference if you desolder, so why bother? In fact it's no doubt a riskier process.
You could use cutters, but that means opening the toolbox...

Re: Does Capcom of Japan still revive dead CPS3 security car
You can't just cut the leads on "this" type of battery it's not like the normal cps2 type, the leads are square and can damage the surface of the cartridge pcb on the parts side if you just roll it off.
only take 2 mins to do it properly

It might well be, but what worked for you, might not for someone else. If Richy13 is suggesting it's risky, then I would take him at his word. As he said, it takes 2 mins to desolder a battery. Saftey firstSpectre wrote:Cobblers, just do it carefully. Mine is fine.

Re: Does Capcom of Japan still revive dead CPS3 security car
I'm not doubting richy's expertise when it comes to all things capcom and I agree with you, what works for one might well not work for another. For example, some charlie might end up with a stray blob of solder somewhere which damages a component, or could overheat the battery terminals and cause damage etc.markedkiller78 wrote:It might well be, but what worked for you, might not for someone else. Do whatever works for you, I'm just suggesting an alternative. For me personally, just clipping the battery off is quicker, easier and totally safe unless you're an utter cack-handed larry. If you are an utter cack-handed larry, I wouldn't recomend touching a soldering iron either.

So yeah, nobody called charlie or larry should attempt to remove a battery from anything ever, by any means.
