Re: Anyone stroking themselves over the PS4 launch announcem
Apart from my initial 'It's new and shiny' thought, there isn't really anything on the PS4 that really grabs my attention.
I see that the Motorstorm guys are doing that Driveclub - and yet GT6 is PS3 bound! I really expected the new GT to be on the 4, if that was the case I probably would be on board - not that I am as passionate about GT as I used to, but I always get the games (and enjoy them).
I think that both Sony, and MS for that matter are conscious of keeping the current gen on life support for a while yet - and it makes sense to keep all bases covered.
Going back to Driveclub again, I wish they were just doing a new Motorstorm game. I really loved all of the Motorstorm games, they were probably my favourite games on the PS3.

Whilst I was standing several feet away from the screens, AC looked very very nice on the PS4 today.

I'd have to agree. Looked no better than PS3 to me. I bet they weren't even running on PS4 consoles anyway.Rossyra wrote:Looked meh to me, no way I was queuing for that ****.

This, I'm afraid to say.Rossyra wrote:Looked meh to me, no way I was queuing for that ****.
To be fair, I didn't get a really close look and Assassins Creed has never been a game I have loved.
A new Wipeout... now that I would have queued for

****.Creed
Couldn't understand the queues for that, then on Sunday I realised the PS banners actually said PS4, and still didn't understand the queues. Hold a PS pad and jog around a dull world between awkwardly cg acted cutscenes. I was already bored of the series after two painful hours of **** Creed 1. Epitomises everything I dislike about modern movie wannabe ****.

Got 2 free on live and suffered from the same symptoms. Another case of a game holding your hand through everything. If you had to expertly time the jumps like TombRaider it would have been much more interesting.geotrig wrote:i was bored of the 1st one after 5 mins if eve i got that far it was pants

Re: Anyone stroking themselves over the PS4 launch announcem
It looked pretty much like standard current gen to me, it wasn't even 60fps. I'm the same I played the first game for about an hour then got bored. Everything is so automatic on the assasin games. Sure, it looks impressive doing death defying leaps across rooftops but all I was doing as a player was holding forward and the run button....the game did the jumping for me :/ It was a snore fest.
I meantioned to my mates how standard and unimpressive it looked and they couldn't disagree with me more, they said it looked stunning and a clear generation leap in graphics. Hmmmm, either I'm blind or they've drunk the coolade.
I'm defo out of videogames nextgen. It's getting boring.

I'd rather stroke myself over your launch announcement.

Re: Anyone stroking themselves over the PS4 launch announcem
Hadn't really played much AC before, so played it today as part of the PSN Plus freebies...... when I actually say "played it", it actually played and I just watched. Interesting mechanic.
See what some of you are referring in the gfx department. Didn't look a world apart from what I saw yesterday on the PS4.
Oh well..... another reason to mothball the PS4 when I get it then.

The new pad feels lovely, maybe a bit light and cheap feeling but a massive improvement on the Duel Shock.

Drive Club delayed until 2014, somewhat unsurprisingly as it's been looking far from polished.

The jist of the fanboys is "Sony saw how good Forza 5 looks and **** their pants!"
Apparently (rumour or fact?) Killzone is now going to be 30fps (originally touted as 60fps), again inciting the "Sony - so what happened to your oh so powerful GDDR5 RAM - Tossers!"
This is going to turn in to a **** storm!

I Thought Killzone was always gonna be 30fps campaign, 60fps multiplayer?

Re: Anyone stroking themselves over the PS4 launch announcem
One of the first comparisons of a multi-platform release AC4, on both the PS3 and PS4:
Not surprising for what is in essence a current gen title, but clearly shows the difference that overall higher resolution provides, together with better textures. Kinda also highlights that current gen hardware is hardly lacking at the moment either.
Latest footage from recent builds of Killzone:
Looking forward to getting my hands on this one at launch.
