Only a little bit done today...i have a stack load of things to sort out, there's not enough time in the day!...and i'm really missing dad
.
Speaker grilles were a little tatty..flaky, so rubbed down primed & painted.

Other bulb was Foobarred!!...in with a new one!.

A little tweak....yoke aside, i'm not complaining!.

Fitted coin reject door & coin box door!...its nice to see the pile of parts going back to where they live!..i have parts all over the house! & garages!.
JOE look away, don't look at the mat mate!!

Locks arrived!..Quality ones not those wobbly chinese rubbish!!...
ONE KEY fits all...what is it with some cabs & multiple odd keys!?..winds me up lol!

I also ( the other day removed the damaged/scraped silicone G from where the Anode cap seats on the tube & re-applied . although i don't think really necessary..as the other Pony tube had none..anyway..all done
I also noticed that ' from the factory' it seems the monitor was fitted to the back of the frame!?..instead as sat on the front of the frame...when horizontal the deflection sheild was pressing on the rear of the cab, when i tested for TATE..the curvature of the tube top & bottom was hitting the frame ! FFS
..the other day the penny dropped & all was stripped & amended...nothing touches now & looks how it should...
APART from B Bakraid sat on a cardboard box!!
...the pcb wooden mount is missing ..i'll make a new one tomorrow!..that's what i'll do.

Re: Jaleco PONY ~MK IV~ "Revival".
Duuuude, look at that screen!! (Chefs kiss gif!!!)
This is just brilliant stuff. Have I mentioned thread of the year?? I know I have, but seriously, thread of the year!!
I’m sorry to hear your missing your dad, as inevitable as that is, but taking into account what you’ve said about him, I’m sure he’d be well chuffed with the attention to detail.
This has inspired me for sure! While I’d love to have a go at respray if my Windy II, seeing just how pristine this is has made me realise I need a professional. I’ll strip it and clean it myself, but the painting will be paid for!
Also, don’t think we haven’t noticed the low key flex with Bakraid
Keep those updates coming!

Re: Jaleco PONY ~MK IV~ "Revival".
Cheers Chris !
Er..yes, i think you did mention it pal!.
Yes, its just not the same without dad here...he had a good eye for detail & clever ideas how to repair all kinds of things...i know he's around though, keeping an eye on me!.
You can do anything if you apply yourself...don't worry about mistakes or things, its how you learn...,BUT I had the best Teacher my Dad & when i started in the motor trade back in 89'!..'Employed' i watched & listened & learned even more from professionals in the trade!, then its just experience as the years roll by. You have been doing a great job on your cabs anyway & look minty!.
Yeah...i love Bakraid!, i'll take it to my own resting place this time though..

Re: Jaleco PONY ~MK IV~ "Revival".
Good evening lads...what a busy day today!, i have decided..winter simply cannot halt my progress, so i built myself a nice sealed spray booth inside my larger garage, so as not to get over spray on everything
..
I have a small heater inside under the spray bench to elevate temps above 20 degree's..
Because i use 2K Isocyanate paint minimum Protection is a spray suit & Charcoal breathing mask..but i'm going to invest in an air fed breathing mask...esp now i'm handling a lot of paint & doing more work like this..also a turbo extractor fan to evacuate paint mist.
So i'm sealed inside my spray booth & have superior lighting now & a baking oven in one!..i finally finished spraying the last two components!

Even more room now!

I'll use my spraying shed for summer work!.

The cp was also sprayed candy white both sides...it was from the factory, except my finish is much better!!
It has to be..so the New vynl adheres perfectly.

All shiny like glass!!

Also made a new pcb board ..it was missing.

Re: Jaleco PONY ~MK IV~ "Revival".
It's not far off Adam!.. Today I checked my painted parts.. I'll polish them tomorrow and maybe fit the lid.
I've just fitted the amazingly spiffing CP vynl Olly made!.. Blew me away, workmanship is awesome and it's laser cut perfect.. Words simply cannot express..
I'll pop a photo on later, also as this is going to house the three amigos!, Bakraid, Garegga. Batrider... I'll populate the newly made ply pcb holder with those 3 legends!, like it used to be in my Egret 2 12 years ago!.. I was lucky that sven still had the high quality pcb switcher I sold him over a decade ago!!.. It individually powers each pcb at the press of the remote.
This will be build no-1 from the 'Neo Gold' Arcade preservation society!!.. & what a way to kick start myself back into the fray!

Re: Jaleco PONY ~MK IV~ "Revival".
Took some time yesterday fitting the Control panel CP overlay Vynl A BIG thanks to OLLY!! You completed this restore with this very important part!..amazing skills..cheers matey!
No phot's showing my fitment, but all you do is align it perfectly on top of your cp..."cut and use masking tape " to make a hinge & keep it aligned perfectly...use a warm water soapy solution in a aqua mist bottle..spray both the panel & vynl liberally...then simply hinge back over & use plastic bingo wing cards to swipe from the middle out & chase out the soapy solution..until its gone from the edges wicking away with kitchen roll...all done in a warm room. same process as auto window tint film!
Cleanliness is an absolute must...doing it this way there will be NO trapped air bubbles...plus the plastic sqeejee's don't mark the vynl whilst you are sweeping out.
Look at this!!...Fresh from JAPAN!! a brand new complete Pony mk -4 cp!!.....i'm over the moon with this literally!!

A thing of beauty!!..

Original stock colours...Vermillion & Puke green!!...i love stock colours though.

Spot on...factory finish.

All brand new parts...lovely

The Pony will be Fully loaded with my three ALL time favourites!!..exactly set up as they were in my E2 12 years ago!?..i was lucky to buy back my high quality three-way jamma switcher from Sven666 he still had it!!...i had another one i sold , still trying to locate the guy i sold it to...very high quality kits these, full remote control & only power one pcb at a time , until you select another on the remote...there are some awful ones available that are basically ****!..
This will be my No-1 Raizing STG Candy cab!!...locked and loaded!!

Here inside....Yeah!!.

JUST NEED to locate my PCB retaing PLY wingnut bolt...its missing in that shot, its here somewhere!!

I'm getting exited!!..
