Wonder if it'd help reduce user searches to set auto-subscribe on threads participated in.
UKVac does this and I do end up using it inadvertently. I never use alerts here, I just use the "your posts" and "new posts" searches like everyone else.

Same but I will say vac search was woefull before hence I use the way you suggest , haven't taken notice of it has improved
