Maybe its being shill bidded? I just can't understand the price?
I sold you (Crunchywasp) and absolutely lovely, original cab, burn free MS9, Sega locks, cleaned and polished head to toe for not a lot more that this is going.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
I thought that too, but the bidders look real. I sold a beautiful, original, fully working, big **** PSU version (with 3.3v, Stereo, Naomi loom etc) with the best MS9 I've seen for £550, oh & it had an original marquee holder, however as you know cabs tend to change hands within the "clique" here rather than in public.tetsujin wrote:Maybe its being shill bidded? I've still got 2 Cyberleads that I need to clean up. I've been holding off in the hope of moving house, which is now a distinct possibility.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
Sounds like you sold it a bit too cheap!
The problem with cabs are, you need to sell to someone who can appreciate the value (time and /parts that are on it) and someone who you can trust and you want the cab to go to.
I normally always sell a cab through PM before I even advertise it as its easier for me and I normally know the person taking it before (have dealt with them so know they wont mess me about).
I do think all cabs are going up a little and its unfair to say cab A is worth X all the time as they can vary so much in condition and other things are missing like locks, marque holder, condition of screen/artwork and all add up and make a cheap cab expensive if you want all that stuff later down the line.
The thing that puts me off any Astro would be the cracks in the lower CP. I just wouldnt touch a cab that had that unless it was cheaper to reflect that. But I have seen some people buy cabs like that for £500+ so...
It's a case of you get what you pay for but in this case, its seems a bit steep.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
Nah I don't think it's been shill-bidded. Shill-bids tend to be more frequent and edge toward round amounts, like bid 199 to see if the bid gets pushed to 200 or 209.
Sabotage-bidded by the 0 feedback buyer however...
---
I've been wondering about the price. I think it has a lot to do with Astros being very well known. Well, as well known as Japanese cabs get. Plus it looks good in those photos. Bidders probably see it as the best example of a Streetfighter cab they've been lucky enough to find.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
I personally think people undersell Astros, I think it's a much better cab than an Egret 2, and clean/original ones are not common (digital systems pumped out a load of flash sprayed one ... Mmm...).
When I sell mine it won't be going for peanuts put it that way.
Great cabs

Good point. They're common, but good ones aren't. Classic cabs.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
When you're new to the hobby ebay seems like a sound bet. I tried to buy several cabs a few months back but they ended early as the sellers clearly had offers outside of ebay. After a few months of research thank god I didn't buy them. Finding forums like this and being patient takes time. Ebay opens it up to loads more people hence the price hike
....and also it is a pretty **** hot ebay listing with the amount of pics and info.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
It is, but there's bound to be big after-sales problems. Four page downs and then this ambiguous statement in the middle of a list...
...With no mention anywhere else that it won't work.* PSU doesn't do 12v or 5v..fixable?- Replace with a normal JAMMA PSU switcher -£25 on eBay.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
I agree that searching for a good cab can take time.
I've been in and out of buying one, almost bought a blast but luckily thanks to my posts in here I got offered a couple of belters in PM's
Should hopefully be sorted now!
