Re: Items spotted on eBay
Cheers for the heads up.
I'd actually bidded £500 on that but didn't realise it was the same one from that thread. That'll teach me - retracted now!

Re: Items spotted on eBay
All those pictures and not a single one with the cab powered.
With all the good will in the world, I would never buy a cab without seeing it working and would urge anyone bidding on this to ask questions first.
If it just takes a £25 jamma switcher to have this up & running, why after many months has the seller not hooked one up? If you can't fix the existing PSU & want to drop a jamma switcher in there, then the cab will need some serious re-wiring. All the power & sound goes through that big lump of a PSU. The Stereo Amp is at the top (wonder if that's working as I, well Cools, had to replace caps on mine) It would be easier to replace it, but it would cost a shed load to import due to the size & weight.
There are too many red flags imo. I appreciate the seller will probably see my comments here and I want to make it clear that I'm not saying anything about this cab, just that any buyers need to be aware that getting this running will take time & effort. People buying, how do I put this delicately, "refurbished" cabs normally don't have the time, inclination or skills to do it themselves. To me those buyers are the least likely to be able to fix one.
Personally, without evidence of this working, I would buy on the assumption everything needs work and bid accordingly.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
It's a shame as well because it looks like a nice cab apart from the crack on the CP.

I don't get why you would bid £500 for a non working Astro?

Not working, I'd say its worth £250-350 max as a psu will cost over £100+ not to mention the cracks need repairing as that will get worse if left and its been repainted (you can either see this as a plus or minus...)
Like Mark says, it's not a cab for someone who won't get stuck into fixing it and has decent knowledge of how to repair it.
I to am not saying not to buy it but it looks like a lot of work.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
the paint still needs work in places, you can see one bit at the curve from the body to the cp on one of the pics in the auction, theres others on the body on other pics he put up previously as well but aren't in the auction

Re: Items spotted on eBay
Honestly I'm not sure why. Finally put aside like £2k to get some cabs in and there's a drought on for candies it feels like.

Maybe, if it was closer £300 would be my max, for a bust NAC regardless of condition.crunchywasp wrote:No one for a cheeky danger bid?

No buyer protection then & it's not going to be possible to see the thing running in advance. Max ebay fees are £70 (and there's no 4.7% paypal here) what was he originally asking for it?Cash on collection or bank transfer only.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
I'm selling a original, tidy, working Astro soon so mine should be worth £1000 if I eBay it??

Nuts price that is. I think a nice Astro should be worth nice money but this is not a nice Astro, it's a fixer-upper.
If he gets that price then good luck to him but would feel sorry for the poor guy who buys it and realises what they got.
