I didn't actually mind Walking Dead as much as I expected. I'm keen to see how things develop. Any episode without Rick seems a bit boring to be honest, almost all the secondary characters struggle to win empathy.

they killed off too many decent characters that could add anything

Those Who Kill (US). Really decent serial killer hunters cop/psychologist team show with Cloë Sevigny. Based on the Danish series.

Watched the first episode of The Smoke last night. A great example of how the demand for plot revelations and twists from the likes of you lot can cause writers to go too far. :) As if fighting fires wasn't dramatic enough.
