I'm sorry, lol, I meant any identifying markers on the monitor, like model number, or technical specs.
-I've seen a few threads pop up recently on the other forum I use asking about lag testing on the vewlix, and the clones.

Sorry.
The monitor is a Sharp... There is a type of model number, but I'd have to take off the back panel to see it. It is a Sharp though, and it has plenty of inputs... Let me know what yours is when it arrives, i'd be interested to compare the two.
I am obsessed with MvC2 and I haven't noticed any lag, but I haven't formally tested it.

sounds good, I'm waiting on a shipping form or something, and it should be here by nov 10.... soooo far away !
-if you take the panel apart any time, try to snag a shot of the monitor, if you get a chance or reason, dont do it for us lol.

No, it's easy. Just two screws to remove the back panel where I can access the inputs. The SHARP sticker is readable from there.

omg this is an expensive business..... Shipping from china, forwarding agent fee's, delivery from the port fees, and customs fees..... i'll have a total in a few days, my cab is on its way....(in NJ right now) I miss running cps2 boards infront of the tv and being satisfied.

Re: Questions concerning the Vewlix and/or Vewlix clones.
Yea, i made a horrible mistake, the cabinet i ordered is indeed the tekken 6 knock off, wich i did want.... but I would have rather gotten the vewlix clone.... no hdmi, only 3 connectors to the monitor, vga, cga, and 3 RCA looking plugs, that i'm not sure are RCA, since one is green isntead of yellow. I didnt really want HDMI ports like the vewlix clones have, but it would have been nice. I've got 4 cps2 games, and an MVS system with samsho 4, so I really only inteded to play older titles on this cabinet, since it was my first purchase. (previously i was playing with a mess of wires between me and the tv.
I'm soo jelouse of evitagen. - gonna try to get my wife to let me order a clone too.... the speakers on my tekken 6 knock off are horrid.
I'll post pics in a thread of my own soon.

I'm sorry to hear your disappointment! Hopefully you can make it feel worth your purchase though.
Looking forward to seeing your thread about your experience and to see pics.
How's the image quality on the monitor?
I'm still loving mine, but I have a question: how do I quiet down the joystick clicks and buttons? In my Madcatz TE stick they are way more muted but in the cabinet they can sound quite loud. I was thinking some type of soundproof foam on the interior but I just don't know.
I am loving the **** out of mine though.

You may have a Seimitsu LS-32 joystick in there (I'm not sure what the machines come with). These are rather clicky. It might be worth looking at a Sanwa JLF stick as they are much quieter but feel quite different when playing.evitagen wrote:I'm sorry to hear your disappointment! It's a JLF. I think it's the metal panel and the more hollowed out insides that make it echo more I dunno.

Yes. I think your right there. Truth is, any metal control panel would sound loud in comparison. The madcatz stick is muffled by the small plastic enclosure, plus it's normally on your lap which dampens the sound.
In my small experience of candy, the vewlix' joystick definitely makes the loudest noise - which makes sense due to it being a full metal cabinet with a huge CP construction - the vewlix is the most solid feeling cab I've ever sat at. I think it's a good sign that you've mentioned this as it implies they've done a proper job in cloning the build quality.
By the way evitagen, where's the full-frontal money shot?

Sounds like your monitor has component inputs, which is interesting.Namhas wrote:Yea, i made a horrible mistake, the cabinet i ordered is indeed the tekken 6 knock off, wich i did want.... but I would have rather gotten the vewlix clone.... no hdmi, only 3 connectors to the monitor, vga, cga, and 3 RCA looking plugs, that i'm not sure are RCA, since one is green isntead of yellow. Please link your new thread in here, or just keep this one going and post it all here. lol. I'm curious to see which cabinet you got.
I also have one of the Tekken 6 Clone Cabinets, but the LCD monitor on my cabinet only has DVI and VGA; no component or any other hookups.

Re: Questions concerning the Vewlix and/or Vewlix clones.
I SERIOUSLY need a new camera... It's probably 7 years old and was not very good when I first bought it, but I attached a pic of the entire cab. The cloudy look is from the damn camera... Either way, I love it. From what I've seen of a REAL Vewlix, this cab is pretty much identical build-wise. The guts are obviously different and the monitor isn't the same... but the frame itself is almost identical, at least from what I can tell. I'll try and borrow my friends better camera and maybe get a video or two of it up and running.

evitagen:
Awesome cab. I had a few questions if you don't mind.
On your control panel, are the stick directly screwed into the panel? Or is there a proper mounting bracket installed?
Is the metal pretty strong for the control panel? Does it bend a lot in the middle area?
Namhas:
I am trying to get the same cab you have (on west coast). They told me these were the choices for input combos.
1. VGA/RGB
2. VGA/HDMI
3. VGA/DVI
I wish they had a HDMI/Component combo. Or they just haven't told me about it.

The panel is just like the Vewlix, except the joysticks came with a flat bracket mounted to 4 bolts attached to the panel. I swapped out the bracket for the S bracket to slightly lower the joystick height.
The metal is very sturdy there is no give at all in the center.
I'd be happy to answer anything else.

Re: Questions concerning the Vewlix and/or Vewlix clones.
Outkast, you should just get the HDMI VGA combo imo, but if your not going to add a home console to the mix, then perhaps some research to see what the best combonation is for you.
I'm putting a feeler out to see if anyone wants to buy my cab as well, I've got a few pics, and the component inputs are YPbPr and I'm not really familiar with that.
I'd really like to see how bad the lag is from HDMI converted to VGA.... any suggestions for converters ?

Re: Questions concerning the Vewlix and/or Vewlix clones.
ZOMFG that is expensive !
I'm wondering if swapping the monitor out is too big a job for me.... I worked in an arcade after highschool, so I've done similar work before, swapping out tube monitors, and replacing the control boards for the big projector cabs too.... mulling it over now....

Re: Questions concerning the Vewlix and/or Vewlix clones.
After further review.... it seems the monitor is using a transformer on the bottom shelf of the cabinet, the pcb sits on the second shelf, and replacing the monitor wouldnt be a bad thing, but then I'd be stuck with a monitor i cant use. (without a transformer).

How much are you selling it for? I have a friend who may want to buy it from you... He is coming to my house tomorrow and if the price is right I'm almost certain he'll get it from you. He's been bugging the hell out of me to sell mine, but that isn't going to happen lol.
PM me with some info and I'll relay it to him...
