chou dbz on namco 256

Post by erzane »

somebody can tell me how to unlock some special attacks ?
with the ic card or without ?

one day the CPU made a special with goku, a special little combo with punch, just a little thing, a friend of mine filmed the scene and I was the 1P (the cpu is the red goku, and you can see the attack on the 16th second)

here is the video :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEydnmLWC-0"

this one prouve that , the CPU can make some special without ic cards because it have all attacks on his data (but what type of specials, just some ?)
what is the real function of the ic cards and how to use them ? (ic cards use internet like Tekken net or Virtua Fighters cards ?)
here are some pics of my ic cards :

Image

Image

they dont have magnetic black band, just a relief number
after my opinion, thoses cards no need internet, the card reader recognize the card (the number on it) and open the special attack system

Image

Image

Image

if my theory is correct, I just need a card reader (we can find this one easely on a tekken5 panel, take off the card reader and install it on the mother board)

here is the official site : (choose arcade dbz and you have more options after)

http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/list/ps2_sdbz/"

here is the banprestos mail (I have try it but nobody reply to me) :

VGusersupport@banpresto.co.jp

and for unlock C17 and ChiChi I dont dont know how to make (perhaps there is a code ?)

I have the game and I have the card readers... I just don't have any cards ^^

I'll be honest tho I haven't really played it but I can tell you that the cards have small micro chips inside just like the Tekken ones and they are good for 500 games before you need to transfer data to the next one. I'll have a fiddle and see if I can figure out how to unlock these special moves for you today at some stage. :)

thanks to you dude, it will be very nice :-)
on the official website they show how to use some specials, did you saw it ? http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/li ... z/special/"

for example like goku http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/li ... gokou.html"

perhaps those are the same ?
but how can you unlock them without cards ?

and I think about a 2nd thing : does it exist a revison of this game, (which will be faster, no loading)... ?

I m impatient to have your news :-)

Ok, fiddled about with DBZ today and couldn't get any of the super moves you were talking about so yes you probably unlock them with cards. As for the card readers you will also need the small PCB that fits into the 256 Motherboard i'll see if I can find the part number somewhere.

I've had the same problem, generally turning off, removing the link to the card reader, rebooting, turning off and reconnecting solves it.

ok no prob man,
thanks for your help
but the card recognizing problem still here :
the card system function only 4 or 5 hours, after that he dont recognize the card reader during 5 more hours
I must wait that this time goes on and he recognize it again etc...
if I do like you told me to do nothing is changing
and I dont think this solution is good for the monitor
I can't imagine this problem in a game center........

now I have 2 x card readers and some working ic cards

here is how I did the physical settings
(each time we finish a party, or continue we must put the card again in the card reader and putting it inside the cab is not the best solution)
so, I make it like that..

inside the cab :

ImageImage

outside the cab :

ImageImage

later I will post some new fresh pics about the system in game and the differents attack that we can unlock
but for the moment, after a first test this afternoon, I can add only 5 new attacks in my card
i must try to put 2P card in the same time for see if I can exchange some data from a card to another
or transfer datas from a full card to a new one..
about the different character colours I didn't found nothing ..

see you next..

Re: chou dbz on namco 256

hello guys
I know it's been a long time I didnt wrote nothing about the subject
so......after tested the ic cards, I can tell you this is a very nice game but a little bit expensive (concerning the ic card utilisation) I have past so much time on this game and so much time to translate all the japanese word, firstly in french and now in english specially for you (I would like to thanks specialy all my contacts from japan who helped me to make this job
(Yukie from switzerland, An, Yuki, Yumi & Hiroshi from japan thanks a lot)

first I would like to complete the last subject about my problem concerning the card reader (when they function only during some hours) now it's ok, for that I went on the ''close menu'' and modified the settings for a 24h play (or puting ''OFF'' it's the best solution)

now..

after insert an ic card your character can update hisself with new ''skills'', colours and dragons wishes.
-every character have a dragon ball number
-you have a gauge (skill gauge, EXP) which is being full after some fights
in normal vs mode your skill gauge will going uppper and upper if you loose a fight
after 16 loosed fights your skill gauge will be full (skill up) and you can choose a new skill (from the skill three)*
after five or six ''skill up'' you can use your ic card for exchanging some skills with other fighters
you just have to put two cards on the card reader after this message :

ImageImage

(p.s. after using more than 490 plays you must to transfer datas to another card with the same physic manipulation)

Image

p.s. on event mode you can upgrade more quicker your favorite characters because it's not important to win or loose a fight, your skill gauge will be going higher and higher in the two cases.
it's just better to play in normal mode for unlock the dragons wheel **

here are some pics about the ic card box (100 pce minimum order)
every card have 500 plays

Image

Image

*here are all ''skill threes'' of every characters
this is the skill system from you can choose after getting a ''skill up'' every skills for your character

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

all availables skills you can find on the skill three :
(I will make translation in english later)

Image

all shenrons wishes you can make :

Image

-have a new counter who can calculate more power until 5000000
-I dont want to see my force and fighting ability on screen before every fights (**** wish)
-choose a new colour dress

Image

-I want to know see my force and fighting ability on screen before every fights
-I would like to have a skill of another fighter (for free, without using skill exchanging system, ''but it's a **** wish'')
-having a new name

Image

-shenron will give you a new name (a japanese name which he choose his self) **** wish to

Image

-give me a final counter who can calculate more score without breaking
-can make a new configuration of skills (very nice wish)

Image

the skill gauge will getting high more quicker (2x) during six time (cool wish)

Image

-you can have a skill from an other character and not loosing your actual skill gauge
it's like having two skills for the price of one (it's a **** wish to)

Image

-additional skill (you can absorbe the energy of all kiko wave (energy wave) that you can block or return to the enemy)
your green energy super attack gauge will getting high (very nice wish)

Image

-second additional skill (you can have 20% power and 30%action more but no guard after having 35% energy on your life gauge) it's a wish for powerfull fighter who play very well (it's a nice but dangerous skill)

for having some wishes from shenron you must unlock the dragons wheel (it unlocks hiself after aproximately 30 matchs) - only in normal vs mode
after wishing, your dragonball will die and you must reactive it
for that you must be fighted (you must loose) approximately 30 times. (during approximately 2 skill up or less)

if the character which fights you have a middle skill gauge there is no problem but be carefull that his gauge dont become full because like this your db will be not revitalised (I think with empty EXP gauge it doesn't function to)
and another thing to know is that :
- if you be skilled up you must empty your skill to continue
-the wheel must be reunlocked for make a 2nd wish and 3rd wish, etc....
p.s. revitalise your dead db in the same time you unlock your dragons wheel
30 matches will be necessary for make the two things in the same time approximately
this is the wishing system technic

here are some pics who shows the wheel when it is unlocked :

ImageImage

insert each fighters dragon balls for putting them in the wheel...

ImageImage

five balls are in the wheel :

ImageImage

all balls are unified :

Image

now you must win the fight and you can see shenron and make a wish

here is an example of shenrons apparition :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwoRelLW ... annel_page

some examples of a dead dragon ball (on the right) and more..

Image

Image

p.s. you can empty your skill gauge (EXPgauge) if you exchange a skill with another fighter
for every skill from another fighter you must cancel your own skill gauge (it's like money for buying skills)
you can have 8 skills max (4 or 5 from the skill three, 2 from another fighter and 1 or 2 from shenron)
it depend of your choice from the skill three or your choice of the other fighter (if you want 1 or 2 skills etc...)

here is an example of a skill exchange
gokou give his skill (kameha) to bejita :

ImageImage

bejita can make a kameha now but his EXP gauge is empty
(he must refull it for exchange another skill again and again..)

ImageImage

all character can exchange two of his own skills with another character
-1 natural attack skill (goku = kameha, freeza = laser, kullilin = disc, piccolo = energy shield etc...)
-1 option skill from the three
one system skill will replace the other
one additionnal skill ............the other to

another thing to know is how tu unlock special characters (C17 & Chichi)
there is a manipulation to do on the menu :
