Well I've picked up an I/O - the thing is, as arcade hardware gets more advanced and goes all HD, don't you think it's a wise investment? Even if I end up waiting five years until SF5 is out and I can get IV for the cab for cheap and I'll have the equipment needed to run it.kernow wrote:wait for the ports of XII and SF4 dude, you know it makes sense.
big HDTV, a PS3 and a VSHG = win

You have a point dude. I just like the idea of, well, playing fighting games on cabs. I never really liked balancing sticks on my knees the same way - but then without playing in true 16:9 that's going to suck and I really didn't factor that in.kernow wrote:I think to be really appreciated it has to be in an HD cab man , the hoops you're going to jump through - combined with the expense all to run it in an egret 2 just isn't worth it. You're better off waiting till a home port comes out, and even shoehorning the PC port into the cab.
Up to you though, its your money, although I wouldn't expect you to be playing any time soon unless you have a LOT of spare money to be chucking around.
I'd wait for the port, simply because it has more characters, you won't just be playing it one player, it has online play, training mode, and will look pretty much identical in HD anyway.
Whats the point of running it 15KHz in 4:3 ratio? none really.

You'll be able to pick up CvS & a Naomi mobo for £40-50, VF4 evo & N2 for £150. GD rom setups are still pretty expensive, but the games are cheap as chips.skykid wrote: You have a point dude. I'll see how it goes. The I/O may still prove worthy, especially if I can grab some cheap Naomi stuff. If not - well, it may be for sale again in the future!
That's my exact setup well if yu call 40" big by todays standardskernow wrote:big HDTV, a PS3 and a VSHG = win
