Re: Stool / Bench
xlr8d: I love your stools.
I would like to have some genuine Sega benches sometime, but at the moment I use an ordinary in hight adjustable office chair. At the lowest point I have plenty of room for my legs under the controlpanel, it turns to the left and right, it has elbow rests, a nice and high soft back and I can very comfortably lean back and enjoy playing games for a long period of time. It has wheels, so when I want to stand up, I just push the chair away from the cabinet.

Re: Stool / Bench
Damn right. Stools are cool but changing to a regular chair has changed my life (i.e. now I can spend the whole weekend playing sf whereas b4 I had terrible back pains and had to have a walk outside and have a social life )

I've been using these guys from ikea:

The plastic forby stools that they sell were OK, however over time they bent to ****. The Agne chairs are super sturdy, and very reasonably priced.

They are the proper japanese stools you can buy them from river service. Meg and chun brought a few in on one of their orders. You can get them in blue, grey and red.

*Edit* Item description says 'solid beech', can't see that deflating
Warning - do not kick violently, the sides aren't that strong.
Will treat myself to the RS ones if there's a Christmas bonus this year

Re: Stool / Bench
When I got them in April they cost £123.69 GBP = ¥24,128 JPY with EMS shipping included in that price (I'm impatient)CPS2 wrote:How much are they (pair)??
Those stools from France that luke2fr mentioned would be worth further investigation if the cost of shipping is reasonable. For one thing you won't be risking getting hit with customs charges like I was when mine arrived from Japan. Customs
IMO worth every penny though.

Re: Stool / Bench
I got these off e-bay and put a SEGA sticker on it. They have nice cushions on them.
The Red one speaks for it self; got it from Ronnie Klok, from his second cab order.

Re: Stool / Bench
I don't know how you all get by on stools. I guess you all just have better posture than I, but I need a chair with a back. I have some light folding chairs next to the cabs or I can just slide over a chair from the kitchen table. Some of these stools look nice, but I wouldn't really enjoy playing on them.

Re: Stool / Bench
Not on the website as far as I know, though all you have to do is mail and ask. I know the guy running Akihabara Shop and thus get special pricing, while I paid about ¥17K JPY (shipped by sea) I don't know what the final price would be for a regular customer.glstar wrote:Those are perfect....

Re: Stool / Bench
Just got these from YAJ, Genuine Arcade stools - Used but cheap.
Cost about £90 delivered for the three of them. Two need new rubber feet and they have a little rust/staining on the legs but for £30 each who's complaining.
Seller has about 12 listed at the moment ( http://openuser.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/user/k875111 ) mine cost 3,200 Yen to buy + fees and postage in Japan + 8,800 Yen postage to the UK (the exchange rate was 170Y = £1 when I bought them).

We've had stools, chopped down stools, chairs, benches...
I'm thinking of grabbing (or building) some storage benches - similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BENCH-STORAGE-SEA ... 25597e223a
PCBs/parts etc kept inside
