Re: Sonic Unleashed
Watching that i can hardly notice the difference between that and Sonic the Hedgehog on PS3/360.. It just looks soo bad.. I wish they had just gave up after Sonic 3 or made an up to date 2d version like The New Super Mario Bros. It looks like you just smash into random things because of bad camera angles..

Re: Sonic Unleashed
It looked great in the early trailers, almost like the old games but with a few 3d bits. Now it's starting to look a bit more **** with each new trailer. WareSonic anyone?
But it seems at least they've realized that all the recent sonic games have been awful and have apologized for it.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
they got the right idea with the DS sonic games. mario is good as a 3D game becuase for the most part its is spacial/platform based puzzle solving. Sonic is a speed game which in a 3D invorovment does not work, at least not as a platform game.
so whats the deal with the weere sonic? I thought they said it was a joke. Which is think is balls becuase they had video of actual game play footage of the Weeresonic tearing up stuff, and if it is a joke they should stop **** about and concentrate on the task at hand
point a to point b in the quickest time possible with a couple of difrent routes, a pitfall/hazzards or two and baddies whats so **** hard about that ???

Re: Sonic Unleashed
Last one I played was Sonic Heroes and it was pure crap. The DS ones have been alright.
But that. That looks stunning. Everything that was right about the Sonic levels in Sonic Adventure multiplied tenfold. It's gorgeous, massive, smooth with a beautiful sense of speed. Loved SA... really tempted to pick this up when it's released. I've got a nasty feeling it won't look quite as nice on an SD screen though, and it'd be a shame to spoil it.
Pure SEGA.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
I'm a massive SA fan. The sequels got progressively worse as they added new elements and characters and seemingly forgot to play test it. The last two were an uncontrollable bug fest.
I want the whole game to play like the first few SA levels.

I have as much fun screwing around in SA as I do in SSX3, just that same feeling of laid back total control lushness.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
I've got to agree, the 3D games have been uniformly awful.
More sonic 2 please, the best of the lot imo.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
I think Sega should take a look at Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Mega Man 9. Two different approaches at new-old-skool that are both receiving a lot of praise and interest. Sega needs to do a new 2D Sonic game and give everyone what they want: the best 2D Sonic game ever. I don't care whether they decide to use MegaDrive style graphics or go for a new hi-res look, as long as it's in 2D and goes like **** off a shovel. Blast Processing FTW.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
I would be very suprised if we did not see one anounced in the next 12 months or so. For sega/sonicteam to turn there back on it would be throwing away money. which is what it all comes down to.

Aaaah music to my ears... am I the only **** here who actually does not give a damn about 3d games? When they announced SFIV was gonnabe 3d it was like if someone had shoved an umbrella up to my **** and open it...gargoyle67 wrote:I agree, Sonic 3D sucks, 2D all the way for me.

Re: Sonic Unleashed
Yeah i know what you mean i feel that SF4 is some what of a let down becuase its 3D but it looks like it handles like a traditional 2D fighter. Sonic adventure was good but it was no sonic 2, or 3

Yeah, but that's exactly why I hate it! I hate when they try to make 3d fighting games that play like 2d fighting games...Lordstar wrote:but it looks like it handles like a traditional 2D fighter
that does not make any freaking sense. What's the point? Having a bad 3d game and a bad 2d game at the same time?
