Cave game emulation

Post by Soundwave »

Quick question all...

Whats the best way to play CAVE shooters under emulation??

Also are all CAVE games playable using emulation??

My Japan 360 died at the weekend & I cant afford the £300ish to buy a new one to just play the shooters & I'm wondering now if I should just build a PC to run emulation on to get my fixes instead

But I need to be able to play Death Smiles & Mushi Futari so I need a way to play them...if 360 is the only way to play them then so be it I'll have to find the cash.

Thanks in advance

Neil

There's a few good cave ports on the saturn emu SSF which is an awesome emulator.

if its the RROD then MS often fix them. From what I hear you stick a note on the unit saying it's Japan Region /ntsc-j.

I think there's an element of luck involved on what's wrong & what unit comes back :? It's better than nothing though.

you need a fairly beefy system to run anything at reasonable framerates tho

and afaik DOJ is the only one that runs at playable framerates right now

You do realise that the "MAME inner circle" has all the new stuff emulated too, just holds them back.

Duno why they would do that, Isn't as though the stuff they release is 100% working is it ? Must be worried about copyright of newer games

Isn't there this "Mame policy" that they will only support emulation of games that are at least that-much of age? So it makes sense holding it back... ****!

I depends heavily on dumping status too, if the dumps do exist, the FBA team would add them according to iq_132: http://neosource.1emu.net/forums/index. ... c=1157.105

i think pete is winding you up ;)

mame are almost 10 years behind at the mo, with progear being the "newest" cave game back from 2000.

on Japanese ps2 you can play:
espgaluda
ddp doj
mushihimesama
ibara

galuda and doj are probably their two best games.

and on 360, you got:
deathsmiles
ddp doj black label

mushi futari probably late this year, and maybe even ketsui*
