Cab. Wanted it for MAME, so naturally I'd just be playing MAME on a TV or PC before.

I'd guess the majority of us got into this initially because of pangs of nostalgia, remembering playing these games in an arcade on a cab. We didn't start off playing them on a gun :)

The cab is a big part of the experience.

I started and am still using my MAS Supernova. I bought it before I found out about making it yourself. Then I found out about arcade Auctions. Funny thing is, it took them 4 months to get it to me. Then as I read online, I hear that is is an inferior product....Love being in the USA.

Started back in 1994 with a Marble Madness cab converted to JAMMA with a Magic Sword PCB in it. Bought it at a yard sale for $100. Ah, the memories.

Supergun for me. I only got into collecting arcade games a couple of months ago and a cab is a fairly big space/financial investment at this stage. I'd love an AWSD though! I have an MV-2F and a MV-1F (bought faulty and repaired), and another 2 faulty MV-2Fs on their way to me. Being technically inclined, it was quite easy to knock up a supergun with bits scrounged from work!

Started with a big red Neo Geo 4 slot machine back in 03 or 04. Went on from there. Never actually owned or played a supergun.

Bought my 1st woody in 2003, and fully refurb'd it.

Since then I've built numerous SGs, mainly so I could play stuff on the 43" telly in the lounge, but since I mainly used Naomi on it, I just hooked that up instead.

Started with a cab here. Superguns have never really interested me much as I feel the arcade experience is best standing shoulder just like the old days.

My first cab was a Neo Geo 4 slot revision 3.

Still on a supergun for me. I have grand plans though to build my own cabinet as I have severe space constraints that only allow for a 21" or smaller cab, and all the nice candies are 25" and 29", which is too big.

Superguns are a piece of the proverbial to make, especially in the Euro Zone, since we have SCART.

Just grab a JAMMA Connector & the JAMMA pinout.

Get 2 15-pin D connectors for the controllers & wire them up to the JAMMA edge in whatever pinout you want (although I use the Neo-Geo pinout just incase I ever get some neo sticks)

Wire a SCART connector to the Video out pins of the JAMMA edge (use +5v through a 100 ohm resistor on the blanking pin of the SCART)

Wire the 2 sound pins to a speaker

Wire in a PSU to the Power section of the JAMMA edge.

Finally add a couple of buttons for Service, Test & Coin & bob's your mothers brother.

When I get back home I'll make a cheap & simple one from scratch & do a full write up on it. Hell I may even give the final product away as a prize of some sort.

started with a Neo Geo 4 slot, never expected it would be possible to own a cab, just got a New Astro City and I think I'll need some more before I'm satisfied. Currently playing the cabs more than the consoles I have. I still laugh every time I walk into the basement.

I've seen a picture of a Hong Kong produced Supergun II in the Street fighter II style writing.

Maybe the name comes from the Super wild card devices.
