I live in switzerland and own a SNK SC19-4 with Neo Geo MVS installed. Dedicated fan of Neo Geo, own a bunch of consoles and interestes in expanding my Cab Collection. Uses to own a Blast City but the 15khz output was kinda dissapointing thats why i switched to a true 15khz cab.

Hi, I've been in to retro gaming for years, modding consoles, collecting consoles here and there, trying different scalers over the years and then different CRTs.
Always wanted to get hold of a candy cab some day, maybe a Blast city or New net city if a decent one comes along and here looks like a good place to make a start and gather some info about these cabs.
I think after trying different CRTs over the years that shadow masks are probably the most authentic to me personally as I never had a trinitron back in the day, and a 29" shadow mask tri sync CRT like the ones in the Blast city or New net city would look great. Feel free to correct me if I've got it wrong and that they are not shadow mask but I'm guessing either shadow mask or slot mask. Currentely playing arcade cores on a 21" sony PVM using a Mister FPGA but the PVM just doesn't really hit the spot. Aslo have a NEC XP 37 Which is slot mask but it's only 480p and above so would need to upscale most games but looks great for those resolutions.

Welcome to the forum! Back in the day I generally played on Trinitrons. Nowadays I greatly prefer a shadowmask tube, curved rather than flat. Flat Trini's are okay, widescreen too, but I don't enjoy a curved 4:3 Trinitron, even less so in tate.

All preference. Objectively a BVM will give a more accurate picture. Subjectively the image on an aged Polo 1 I have is more pleasing to my eyes.

a couple of years ago I purchased my first arcade PCB from Japan (an Arika/Psikyo TGM2), followed by a few others.

I''m convinced my life wouldn't be complete until I'll get my hands on a Sega Astro City or two! ^O^
