I'm all for anything that keeps the hobby alive. Sucking in the next generation of brain damaged kids. My six year old is bothering me (nicely and politely now and then) about a Wangan Midnight Cab after our latest trip to Japan.

Re: Gallery of ****
It's verging on 'Awful Taste But Great Execution' territory.
Looks like a design an American who grew up playing wooden cabinets would come up with for a 'candy cabinet' from viewing photos of Japanese cabinets.
The steel fabrication looks nice, but visually it's just a mish mash of way too many things and isn't working at all.

I like the idea a lot. But only thing is the design and it’s not Japanese. Would prefer an OG Cab with broken monitor and put something in to play Jamma on a LCD Display.

I like the idea that it is a new JAMMA cab. I've seen too little until now to assess if it deserves to be in this category

Re: Gallery of ****
Hmmm, that's a strange one. The build is actually kind of neat, and at least the game isn't stretched to full screen. I could see this in the office of a company that works with plexiglass or something, but not as a unit for sale/use at home. Plus what a pain to keep clean

If you're going to make a completely translucent cab you could at least make an attempt to do a decent job with cable management
I shudder to think how much all of that acrylic must have cost

Re: Gallery of ****
The craftsmanship with the rounded corners and such looks great, too bad about the rgb lights and the wheel. Is that male chicken-operated or why is it so low?
The acrylic guy hopefully bought a **** of the stuff as post-covid-era surplus? I've seen quite a few stores dumping a lot of acrylic sheets meant for or used in "cough-screens" and such. If not he indeed paid a fortune.

Re: Gallery of ****
id nearly expect that thing to either wash my dishes or cook my food , has to be just a repurposed kitchen appliance

<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Re: Gallery of ****
An acrylic cab like that would be a cool piece for events if it had a crt and real guts.. someone built an acrylic pinball to show how they work.. pretty cool.

..or ESD.
I bet it works like a faraday cage? Pinballs have alot of high voltage parts, might even be dangerous?
