IIRC it's not a great game to play for score as it requires milking and running the timer down.

That's a fair comment, but the scores here are beatable without those kinds of shenanigans. Just figured it'd be fun on a smaller scale. Apparently the actual record score is over 3 million, and I cant imagine what on earth you'd have to do to achieve that?!

In the mean time, progress...

nice score , not that I've ever put huge effort into it ,I'd be happy to get past the 1st stage without dying !

Did a quick 1cc at an event at The Shed Arcade last year. Possibly my lowest 1cc score on the game ever :awe:

Brilliant stuff!! I genuinely really enjoyed watching that! GGWP

We play quite differently and I think I picked up a few new things to try out from your video, so thanks!!

Looks like a great venue too! Would be great if there were something like this near me so like minded folk could hang out and stream some arcade nonsense. 8-)

After some trouble with O'Neil and the stage 3 boss, I got to Stage 5 today.

Nice!!

Such a rewarding game to make progress on.

If you’re playing on real hardware, do you have a memory card? If you’re working on a 1cc, it makes such a huge difference to be able to grind a certain level over and again rather than starting from stage 1 every time.

Good luck! Level 6 is where it gets a bit dicey :-o

Thanks Chris this game is alot of fun to play.
I will try to get a 1cc, but I'm afraid Stage 6 will kick me hard :awe:
Unfortunately no memory-card, just the MV-1FZ.
Maybe I will practice the later stages on MAME...

Yeah not an 1cc yet, but getting closer.
If I'm not too busy I play once or two times a week. Usually I can beat the game with less than 6 Credits.
Mostly dying on stage 6 and last boss of course. ;)

Glad to hear you’re still at it!

The bridge on Mission 6 and the boss are the real humps to get over for sure

The Boss isn’t actually that bad once you’ve got his pattern down (but of course that’s easy to say once you’ve got it, and useless information to you until you get it :lolno: )

bridge area in stage 6 is a huge difficulty spike, and it's absolutely critical to get to the boss with the slug intact. Makes things a lot easier
