But then I wouldn't be able to put it on a shelf
I don't have a shelf to put it on either

Re: Paprium
I really do love the cover art.
<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Re: Paprium
I just played my copy for the first time. It's pretty good. I got the investor edition which comes with some XS sized pants (I'm not even kidding).

So yeah, another mail. Honestly didnt understand much of it. Something about locusts. My conclusion was fonzie is either on drugs or mentally ill or both, and getting ready to hibernate for a few more years

I got the same idea, but I get the impression he's hoping people are going to pour cash into his pockets before he f***s off again.

I’m mean, I’d really like to try this game out, but literally all of the eBay listings are mental
I genuinely don’t understand? The seller here doesn’t think for a second that they’re getting £10k for this game so why bother to list it? What’s the upside?

Re: Paprium
I'm getting to old for any kind or ultra-long-preorder, jump thru hoops, waiting list nonsense.
If it's not handled like a regular business where I can make an order with a known shipping date then I'm out. No product should sell out instantly if produced in a reasonable quantity.
Bitmapbureau, Exa-Arcadia, NewWave toys are some examples where I feel it's done well.

That game is a perfect example of what's wrong with a lot of classic gaming these days. All fluff and hype to make it as 'exclusive' and expensive as possible.ChrisBEANS wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2024, 12:24 pm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386738472290 ... media=COPY

I'd liked to have tried it out but won't be doing so now until someone figures out a way to decrypt the rom.

Re: Paprium
Similar story with Kraut Buster from NG Dev.
I understand that there are still copies bought years ago that are yet to be dispatched.
I got mine on eBay for more than it originally sold for, and those prices have since doubled.
Nobody in their right mind would pay £1200 for it!
What I will say to NG:Dev’s credit though over that chap at Watermellon is that KB is a very polished, premium game.
Gets a poor reception online, but I honestly think that’s more aimed at NGD than the game itself.

Re: Paprium
We used to have meetings where there was always someone bringing along stuff like paprium so you could give it a go. A shame pandemic, old age and retrogaming put an end to that
Seems like paprium emulation went nowhere after a promising start, at least not in public

Re: Paprium
I would have liked a copy of GunLord MVS but only ended up buying the Dreamcast version due to the extended faff, and the fact the player characters were always so tiny.. I mean use some of that Neo Geo processing power !
It seems they have found a better niche on modern console with hopefully somebody to assist with the sales/manufacturing aspects for them.

Re: Paprium
We had a great little gaming meetup group here in Dublin too based on a different Irish forum. Was going years. Always met every Christmas and then a few times throughout the year too.
Covid also killed that one been trying to get it going again to not much luck.
It's a shame as you really can't beat a few heads playing multiplayer around the same TV/cabinets.

Re: Paprium
I brought my Paprium to a gaming meetup with friends a while ago. Can't believe I actually got the game eventually. I treated that as a write off/loss move on....
Now that I think of it, I have no idea what version I have or where I put the game because it was just complete barf. The content gameplay wise was zero.
