Looks like the exA mode uses four buttons with the fourth being used for bomb without triggering the hyper.

Interesting that they haven't added and extra character to the marquee.

Any color palette swaps like official black label releases? I know it's just aesthetics, but it sets them apart from the originals in a big way.

Some of the new changes sound okay, but not life changing -- unless you cound grazing which honestly I'm not a big fan of.
I'm surprised they put in something that is a staple in Tohou and works well in Yagawa's games, but SDOJ patterns were never designed for it. Who knows, it could mesh fine but part of me wonders if they were just looking for things to change.

Either way, if I had $4000 to blow I'd probably get it... which I don't :(

I'm no expert player, but those Exa mode changes sound great to me. Always preferred DFK's 4-button system for hypers than (S)DOJ's and it sounds like there's more bullet cancelling which is in line with my tastes. Not that I'm expecting to ever play it anyway.

We will make a run for you guys if it makes sense.

Add me to that.

I'd still be down for an Aka to Blue VLX set.

You'd be surprised how relatively minor tweaks can change the viability of things. It also helps that every single pattern has been touched in one way or another

The changes are a lot more significant than you might think, in general.

I look forward to trying it. I've only played the 360 version and I was not impressed.

This is one I'd have to try before I buy, but I'll never get the chance. If it had been any other DDP game I might have taken a gamble, but SDOJ is my least favourite (barring DDP2) by a wide margin.

SDOJ, DOJ and DFKBL are top tier Dodonpachi for me. The fact that Exa Label has a bit of a DFKBL vibe about it sounds great to me.

Out of interest, why order through BEEP instead of direct from the Exa website?
