Re: Super Nintardbros!
I really liked it. I found the walking/horse riding bits quite relaxing. You can teleport later, so that should work out for you. You will also get better more durable weapons later.
I would have preferred more traditional dungeons instead of the shrines personally. Hopefully they go back to that format in the sequel. Could also do without the voice acting.

Re: Super Nintardbros!
It’s possibly the Zelda game I’ve enjoyed the least. I was really excited to play it and so disappointed when I did. It’s such a chore and the breakable weapons are a completely pointless mechanic and remove any sense of achievement and excitement when you pick up something new, which isn’t Zelda imo. I ended up not using my best weapons so I didn’t break them
Don’t get me started on the **** cooking

What wrong with it?

Re: Super Nintardbros!
It has issues keeping a stable framerate. I found it bothersome enough to stop playing it. With that kind of style it really needs a stable framerate. It looks amazing the times when it does run at solid 60.

Re: Super Nintardbros!
BOTW has been the one game in many years that took me back to how I felt playing games as a child.
As for Nintendo - I appreciate them and their first party games far more since I've had children. Family friendly big budget games don't exist on other platforms.

I grew bored of Mario odyssey quickly, but kids love it and understandably so. The assist mode is brilliant
The whole million moons and costumes seems like a pointless grind to me, but for some kids, it’s hours and hours fun

Re: Super Nintardbros!
BOTW was wonderful.
Switch has become another Nintendo console that I buy maybe one or two proper games a year for. Too many Wii U ports. Can't remember the last Nintendo game I bought actually. It's a SEGA AGES console right now.

Being so jaded i'm guessing the neo geo and it's accompanying forum would be a good option.
I do agree the switch is great for adults and kids alike. I do have some kids games on the ps/xbox but the ones on switch are much easier and a lot more fun for mine.

BOTW might be one of the greatest games ever made. I've not sunk that many hours on a console game for a decade.
In other news, The Touryst is currently on sale in the e-shop and is well worth a look:

Nice.
I missed previous sales and in the end I just bought that at full price a month ago. Played it start to finish with my lad over a few evenings. I just can’t be bothered with long games. This was just what the doctor ordered. Loved it.

There is, it opens out to several islands but it’s quite a pleasant little peaceful experience all through. I liked the demo.
If Link’s awakening -fighting is a genre then this is in it.

I really enjoyed it myself. It did feel a little short but that's probably because I just wanted to play more of it

Re: Super Nintardbros!
I prefer games to be relatively short, I lose interest when they are 20/30 /40+ hrs long . Botw being an exception, outside of the cooking & the breaking weapons

Cooking, foraging, recipes in general and breaking weapons. All the stuff you don’t want it a game.

Re: Super Nintardbros!
Bunch of whiny sods. Would the game be better if weapons lasted forever? Maybe, but that would give rise to just using the "best" weapon and the same type of attack against each enemy type throughout.
There's an infinite supply of weapons and you make it sound like the better stuff shatters after 1 hit. And 99% of the time it doesn't matter which one you're using, they all do the hitting the enemy/rock/tree thing. Weapon breaks, switch to another, repeat.
Cooking, a little tedious sure but reasonably rapid and button mashy to restock.
Minor, minor gripes in the overall grandeur of the game.
Something properly tedious is having to hold Run for the whole game in Super Mario 2D stuff.
