Re: Vewlix: Replace easily your screen with a 1080p or 1440p monitor
Looks the same size as a Taito Vewlix from my rough measurements.
I did notice that the screen on the 1080 monitor is slightly smaller than the 1440 according to the specifications on the web if that makes any difference.
Also you are taking some flak on arcade projects for your methods but I don’t see any problem at all for home use.
For the one with the gaps between the monitor you could use neoprene sponge or high density foam cut to size.

I have found arcade forum users are generally very helpful to each other unlike other gaming forums so it’s a strange one.

"it's a horror show..."
There's elitist **** everywhere.
He could have made a comment about the mounting procedure without being a complete douche.
Hope he takes his Original Vewlix Sacred Cabinets to the grave, have a good one.
Meanwhile i'll be having fun on my cab with a 1080p crispy screen that didn't cost 1500$, cheers.

Totally agree, I just think he didn't take time to see/read all the topic. But I answered

If they ever release a 32" OLED screen then the monitor in my Vewlix is 100% getting this treatment. If the current one dies I'll replace it with the LG - I'm not paying Taito's extortionate prices.
2 * Vewlix Diamond Blacks,2 * Vewlix-F, 1 * Sega Rally 3, 1 * Video Pinball, 1 * DinoKing (JAMMA Converted).

I am planning to buy original vewlix c(capcom) in few weeks. Is this c model eligible to upgrade 1080p lcd like one you have? I have been told that most of chinese made vewlix only compatible for lcd upgrade (probably l or higher?)

Re: Vewlix: Replace easily your screen with a 1080p or 1440p monitor
Doesn't the vewlix c already have a 1080p monitor?
In theory, no matter if you get a vewlix f, c, l, diamond, chewlix, a 32" monitor is pretty much all the same in measurements, it's just a matter of how much bezel and frame there is externally which a number of monitors in this thread have shown is capable of being installed without having to debezel.
If you debezel a monitor, you will have zero issues fitting it in the area.
The biggest challenge is how to fit it onto the said cab as all monitors in the cabs are debezeled but have specific mounts.

Re: Vewlix: Replace easily your screen with a 1080p or 1440p monitor
I managed to put a Iiyama 4K monitor in the Vewlix and it’s running my pc and Xbox One X just fine. As soon as I turn the mains switch on it will automatically display whichever system is powered on.
So glad to remove the Vewlix monitor as it’s so heavy and cumbersome compared to a light monitor.

Any pics of the install? Curious how you mounted it.

Re: Vewlix: Replace easily your screen with a 1080p or 1440p monitor
I did plan on buying brackets and screwing them into the holes in the metal frame and cover the ends In rubber but I wanted to quickly try the new 4K monitor I purchased (£314 from Amazon).
I picked Neoprene adhesive backed sponge rubber and it worked better than I could have imagined. Placed in the frame in the middle of the 4 sides and the monitor will not budge even when I turned it upside down and shook it (over a foam cushion). The only negative is I had to slightly trim the bottom piece as that side of the frame is larger than the top.
It now has better ventilation than the original monitor and it’s easy to return it to its original state by removing the rubber and using lighter fluid on the glue. I know as I removed the original bottom piece and put a new slimmer cut in.
P.S. Does anyone have a recommendation for an automatic USB switch to use with a brook universal fighting board so that it switches between consoles/PC?

Mine is a Taito Vewlix L purchased from the container that the very helpful Jon brought over (and by the looks of it might have more Vewlix and others to sell soon).
Had all the Taito bits inside including a Taito VS board.
