Nanao 29" monitor Yoke identification

Post by mukurop »

I have got a tube with no burn in , it is a Toshiba but I have not the chassis and not frame, I have assembled with a sanwa 29e31s frame , please help me identify this monitor. The tube is the same as ms9 but I'm not sure for the Yoke.

The yoke could very well be from a different chassis.

The only way you can be reasonably assured it will work is to measure the inductance on the horizontal and vertical coils.

Thanks. I have finally ifentified the monitor, it comes from a Konami Windy cab and it is a toshiba Pb-6643, I will arrange an adapter for the Yoke and test with ms9 and hitachi chassis.

Your best bet is to either get a pb6643 chassis or swap the yoke for an ms9 one.

Thanks for your advice, but it turned out that the yoke is so close to the one I have on capcom impress, I will try the hitachi gmk-29fs wich shold drive this tube so well.

Any update to this? If it was unsuccessful I have an MS9 yoke that I'd swap for the PB6643 yoke.

Little update, the ms9 works with Little side compression maybe fixable by using pots on chassis, gmk 29fs3 drive perfecly without any horizontal geometry issue, you do not need to make any adapter for the Yoke connectors since are just the same size you just need to add a wire with a single female small conn because the gmk chassis have two pins for gnd on the neck board otherwise the toshiba neck board only one.
