Wei-ya 3129D geometry problems

Post by muell »

I have a newer Makvision tri-sync It ha a Wei-ya 3129D chassis and LG tube. I know these are known for being pretty bad. Because this one is like new Im considering taking it apart resoldering it and changing the caps and adding fans to try to make it last. Im not sure its going to be worth it though. Are the problems shown in the pictures fixable or is it a bad tube. Would adjusting the yolk help?

perfectly normal for this chassis, perfect geometry does not exist on this chassis- these were built for arcades and not collectors

It doesn't look that bad. You could fix it with a few convergence strips.
