Hello!
I noticed on my 28" videocolor tube that need to make a small adjustment in the yoke, specifically rotate it a little to the left so the picture is level. But I am unsure how to do it properly on this tube - maybe there is a better way?
I have loosen screw "A" .
Now, is it possible to rotate assembly "B" while base "C" is glued to the tube?
Does this work this way or do I need to loosen base "C" from it's 4 anchor points and rotate it as a whole ?
I kinda hope that "B" can rotate slightly while in base "C" - it should be way easier
Thanks in advance for any info/tips!
Proper way to rotate the yoke of a Videocolor tube?

so I guess my theory was silly and I have to rotate by breaking free the 4 anchor points... nothing is easy anymore

It's one piece but I don't recommend to mess with this yoke. The tabs around the neck will break, they're very fragile and glued to the glass.

You mean the 4 anchor points glued to the tube? They seem pretty solid to me , the tube in question is a brand new one so they don't feel rigid/cooked.
The truth is that I am not that keen on doing that but it annoys me so much having payed good money for it and have it not look as good as possible. I have not decided yet because that mounting system does look annoying to work with...

You'll likely find rotating it will throw out something else. Only mess with the yoke if something is seriously wrong and the tube is otherwise scrap.

No, I mean the tabs around the neck. If you twist the yoke they will break. This is a problem only on Videocolor/Thomson tubes as the plastic they used breaks very easily. The yokes on Asian tubes (Toshiba, Orion, Samsung) don't have this problems as they're made of Nylon/polyammide which bends but doesn't snap. A few years ago I tried to find a method for removing Videocolor yokes safely which involves using dental floss and lubricant. Still pretty difficult.

I also advise against tampering with the yoke if it's just a tilted picture. Just tilt your head while playing.
