Ibara’s ace. It’s the only Cave game I still own.

It's still not clicked with me after about 5 years. I still try now and again, but always walk away not seeing the magic others see in it.

It's Caves finest shooter.

Garegga the 2nd.

It is not among my favorite STGs either (it is my least favorite Cave game on the SH3 hardware) and I don't particularly enjoy playing it, but I have a healthy amount of respect for it. It's just a matter of taste. I think it does what it does exceptionally well. I can say the same about Garegga.

The problem with Ibara is that it is intense from the get go.

So it is designed for the Raizing fanatic with abslutely no regard to a STG novice (or a CAVE fan).

At least with Garegga it is a bit more accessible, you can just play it without regard to rank management and enjoy it (and the fantastic music) before you die a lot.

I personally really like Ibara, but I am terrible at it. It's the kind of thing where I know I will never be any good, but it won't keep me from trying time after time.

I don't think Ibara is difficult to 1CC if you keep your lives low and avoid medals. Its level of difficulty is not a reason why I find it unappealing, personally.

Plenty of Cave games are more intense from the get-go and significantly more difficult to 1CC.

Agreed, a Ibara 1cc was not that tricky, imo Ketsui or Doj was way more work.
Also if you suicide in the beginning the rank becomes very manageable.

That's one of my main issues with it. It's such an unnatural way to play and goes against almost every other video game I've ever played. Also the bullets blend with the background too much :problem:

Not as sorry as me :D

To be fair, it is an absolutely mint burn free tube in one of those fancy metal enclosures which has rubber feet on all sides for Tate mode, as well as a JP21 scart socket.
