I'd have jumped on that a few years ago. Surprised it didn't go for more tbh. Looks like the AMI boxes are still more desirable, despite there being hundreds of them.

Well the Japanese have definitely cottoned on to this gaijin box fetish.

Pretty sure Ronnie can get that if you tell him to bid high enough.
Shipping domestically and internationally will be a killer though.
I won a NOS 25" Nanao tube for a "cheap" price on yahoo, ended up costing £1400 to my door

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Quoting EOJ from CAVE-STG on this one for some added context. Truly astonishing.
Ibara boxed kit + poster sold for 141,990 yen:
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/305405667
That's at least $1500 USD after all fees and shipping are included, plus any customs fees. Unless I've missed something, that is probably the highest price a boxed Ibara kit has sold for since its third week of sale back in 2005 (in the third week, the price was slashed to 120,000 yen or less at all the shops/distributors, due to the game selling so poorly. The price kept falling every subsequent week and month, ultimately settling at a lowly 20,000 yen for a brand new kit). I find this to be astonishing!
A few interesting notes:
-All of the bidders were proxies, so once again, we find a Cave item that Japanese are not willing to bid high on, but those living outside of Japan are.
-The last bare PCBs sold for 70k-80k yen (the 80k included some artwork) a few months ago on YAJ. This is also the current price range for a bare PCB at Japanese PCB shops. So the box + art + poster double the price, at least for foreign bidders.

Absolutely nuts. Who is it paying these prices? Ibara isn't even a particularly good shooter.

Ibara is godlike. One of Caves best.
Well, the kits are definitly popular, shows that there are collectors hunting and not those that only want to play the game.
Similar examples have been seen with DFK and kuro the last weeks where no one bid/bought lone pcbs where a kit sold.
