It seems that Suicide Club might not be a hack after all doesn't it.

Reading between the lines it looks like the plan is for Cave to work on this new hardware as well.

If that's genuine there is absolutely no talent left at CAVE.

Select (New Sidescrolling Action Game) & This way we can also combined it with option 2 (New Horizontal Shooter) it will break up any repetitive gameplay.
It could work :awe:

that was what i thought originally as well, with what was being hinted as was possibly a fresh run of sh3 pcbs and parts, but sadly not its pc based architecture so a self contained unit rather than a pcb

tbh super detailed shmups don't interest me in the slightest id much rather see visually intricate game in a different genre (except fighters) if its on contemporary tech and keep the shmups using archaic tech thats rinsed for every bit of memory ala YGW if it were still feasible to produce or repurpose 15k jamma pcbs

Will the arcade h/w be sold to consumers or it exclusive for operators in Japan?
I would definitely consider purchase of a unit for the right game, even if it's a limited run made without credit or online support around the time of the steam release.

It goes without saying the security need to be very carefully thought about. I should also mention that not having a super loud industrial fan to replace would be much appreciated!

shou stated that distribution of physical format would be handled independently in 2/3 major areas/continents - asia, us, and possibly eu. it didn't seem like it was a japan/asia and rotw kind of split from how he described it

direct home use sales of arcade hardware would be happening but appears to be a separate process from actual arcade sales, as there seems to be a fair but of nuance to the timings of everything to keep everyone sweet (particular consideration regarding the arcade OPs and distributors which is entirely understandable)

I don't see what's the issue with selling actual arcade units to home users, however, I could see the price being exorbitant for most. These are made to generate revenue to ops, so you're probably looking at 2 grand or more.
