Problems with AW and Taito X2 Mobo
Hi,
I have a few problems with two of my mobos and I hope that someone could give me some advise.
1. Taito X2
I do not get a picture.
I had this mobo in my Vewlix in the past and it worked fine. Then I sold the Vewlix and wanted to use the X2 again on my monitor with a supergun and an i/o board (have the Sega Rev. B and a Capcom one), but I don't get a picture out of it.
The PSU, fans etc. work. If I put the USB dongle in the port the LED lights up. Also if I use the DVI port and use a HD Fury 2 to VGA, the HD Fury lights up, so I guess it get a signal.
I only hear a beep sound and that is all.
Regarding DIP switches, I tried both (2 and 4) switchend them on and off, but no change.
Also I plugged the RAM module, graphic card in/out, but also no change.
Is there anything else, which I can try?
2. Atomiswave
This works absolutely fine in 31khz mode, but 15khz to the Jamma connector only, I can get only get a very dark picture, like missing colors etc.
This is the same via the supergun or in my cabs (Aero/Impress).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

What port are you pluging the dvi cable in on your ttx2. Make sure its one of the ones on the gpu. There should be 2 together.
If thats not the issue then it could be a dead gpu. There are replace able with a normal 7900gs they just need a bios update. So dont think you need to pay 150 for one from ebay

Yes, I used both DVI plugs on the GPU.
I have a 208A mobo with a Gladiac 979GS. Are they interchangeable with any Nvidia 7900GS?
Just in case, the GPU is broken and I buy a new one, how do I do the BIOS update?

I borrowed another X2 Gladiac 979GS and tested it with my X2 unit and it worked, so the GPU is faulty.
Now I want to buy a nvidia 7900GS, but how to I do the BIOS update and where can I find the BIOS file?

fyi that definitely wont work in a ttx2 as its an AGP card not PCI-ex
check ebay i have picked up a few in the past for $10 with free shipping and there is a nice guide over at Arcade-Projects.com for updating the VBIOS to work with a TTX2
ps sorry for not returning to the thread earlier i forgot all about it but glad you worked out it was your GPU
