What are folks experiences of hardware listed as "junk untested"?
Worth a punt at the right price as it's generally working but genuinely untested OR
Junk means junk. Proceed with caution

Yeah I've had a few junk games actually work, but for the most part they are indeed junk..

It depends on the translation really .I would bid cautiously ,and expect it not to work.TechnoFreek wrote:What are folks experiences of hardware listed as "junk untested"?

A lot of the time depending on what it is it's genuinely untested. Problematic items I'd give a wide birth
Depending on size and weights it can be an expensive gamble.

Re: Locating stuff on Yahoo Auctions Japan
I took a punt on a "junk" Capcom io.
Reason given for junk status is that there is no environment to test as it's no longer in a game centre.
I decided to take a chance based on the above explanation plus the io is a fairly simple piece of kit so the chances of it going faulty and giving out errors are less likely than a naomi mobo for example.
All in all the cost to get it to my door will be around 50 euro which seems to be a good price assuming it works of course!

It's definitely hit or miss (usually hit more than miss). I've gotten junk item lots where everything works, but there was a time where I got a Ringedge 2 that ended up having a video card that was artifacting.TechnoFreek wrote:I took a punt on a "junk" Capcom io.

Unfortunately not, just keep an eye on the arcade section. That's where I find all my stuff.TechnoFreek wrote:Wow, very interesting. Do you have a search term to share so I can look for some myself? Thanks
