HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
Could you guys tell me a little about these kind of cabinets?
If i was to look into getting some for Violent City, which would be the recommended models?
I've read good things about the Vewlix F, these are the only ones i've personally played on as well.
Are they hard to come by in Japan?
If i was to look into shipping some over are and selling some are they something that people are looking to buy at the moment?

They should be easy enough to come by but they're not as sought after as CRT cabs over here. I think Mo has some for sale too.
Beware of ambiguous Chinese models. A photo inside the door should identify genuine Taito Japan stock.

Vewlix listed as out of stock with Mo at the mo though.
Depends on how many you want, may be cheaper just to import a load like you have done already.

Yeah that was what i was thinking of doing. I have contacted a couple of the companies i was dealing with.Devil Soundwave wrote:http://videotronicsuk.com/index.php/

But i probably would be looking to sell some this time around as i don't need as many of these.
I guess if they're sold out on Mo's page it must mean there are some customers for them out there.
The Velix F seems really nice. I can imagine other people might be into it too so hopefully could shift a few if i could get hold of that unit.

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
Thanks. I read that the F has 0 latency. Is that the same for the C too?
What makes it best in general?

As far as I was aware, no LCD could have zero latency...

Or as near as. I think 10 or 11 milliseconds lag is about as good as it gets, i think anything under 16 is essentially considered lagless.

The Sanwa in the C is a newer Revision of the Sanwa in the F.

Cool.
I've been reading good things about the New Delta cabinet from RS.
Would you recommend those?

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
never saw one in person. If you don`t need tate the Namco Noir would also be an option, the i/o is a bit ****, but it is very well build also has a Sanwa Screen and it is cheaper than a Vewlix.

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
I would definitely want a good rotate option i think. Apparently the New Delta has a great rotate mechanism. I came across this from when i was talking to RS about candy cabs. They sent me a comparison chart.

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
I have a New Delta. I also have a Lindbergh, but not a Vewlix.
The Lindbergh is the nicer looking unit of the two, but the New Delta is all around better:
Full jamma and JVS compatibility
Better screen with more inputs
Three separate power supplies for 3.3V, 5V & 12V
100-240V input voltage
The screen is easily rotateable and the control panel dimensions are the same as in classic Sega cabs (Astro, Blast & Net), so panels are easy to find.
Unless you're playing strictly Lindbergh games (uhh, Virtua Fighter and Tennis?), between these two, I would take the New Delta.

Dunno about the cab, but I would certainly recommend RS for good customer service and being all round great.

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
Ask them if they have a New Delta Stealth left, they only did 3 or 4 of these, look pretty nice.
sadly , even this has this kinda home-made taste to it

I think it also depends on aesthetics, the Vewlix is the better looking cabinet, its more likely that people (me included) would buy one for home use, the Delta might technically be the better cabinet but god its ugly and less likely you will sell many (if any) of them ... just my 2p

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
jamma on a 720p screen is silly anyway.
the only downside on the vewlix ( beside the price) is the height of the panel. Much better on the Noir and on the Lindy.

Re: HD Cabinets, Vewlix etc
Cool this is really useful input, thanks everyone.
I have a line to some Vewlix's at the moment, so i'll see how that pans out.
Sounds like the Delta would be good for me, but not so popular for others, makes sense though i'm not a huge fan of the aesthetics myself but the specs seems great.

Can you share the source of the vewlix supplier? I'm looking for one too.
