BTW: This is what happend with Sombetzki in NL - started out in similar 'garage' situation/conditions as you:

With all the money you are spending on those PCB/cabs, you for sure want to have heating, keep it above 6 degrees at all times.
Don't go cheap on heating all of a sudden

Re: Turning the Garage into an Arcade (passiv dehumidifier tips ?)
My shed has better than house insulation - no real ventilation other than the doors at the front.
I had a lot of moisture as the plaster and paint dried out - but have run a small fan heater only to keep the temperature at a regulated minimum.
Since the moisture dried out from the initial decorating, I've not had a problem like that - right through a scottish winter....

The only console in a Cab for now is a PS4 with SF5.
But Consoles don`t count as pcb anyway, so no restrictions.

You will have moisture when plastering and painting in any room. It's just the water coming out while its drying.colinmac wrote:My shed has better than house insulation - no real ventilation other than the doors at the front.

Re: Turning the Garage into an Arcade (passiv dehumidifier tips ?)
Sure - it was only to be expected.
I ran a heater after a day or two - to evaporate any lingering moisture (my cabs weren't in the shed at the time) and then vented the moist air via the main doors.
Running the heater after that simply keeps everything dry and not too cold.
Moisture has never raised its head as an issue since, although lots of bodies in the space might, since moisture from breath and bodies would obviously carry into the air in shed, which would need ventilating...

Awesome project
Do the things well once and you'll save in money and headaches
I'd like to do something similar in the near future, I'm just starting in this world.
By the way, do you like the Super Street Fighter 2 X, Alpha 2,3 or Capcom vs Snk 2?

What cabinet will you use for the Xbox 360?
Only for shmups in mind?
We all should have at least one cabinet with a computer inside to have Final Burn Alpha and FIGHTCADE and play online

Re: Turning the Garage into an Arcade (passiv dehumidifier tips ?)
Why not display the artsets on the cabs if you're actually going to keep the games in them for good?
That's quite an expensive setup to experience lag.Rocco wrote:Jan wrote:We all should have at least one cabinet with a computer inside to have Final Burn Alpha and FIGHTCADE and play online
