Wiring two cabinets for back to back play
Can anyone tell me what i would need to wire two cabinets back to back?
Also, with this setup i would like to output the video signal for use with a projector, and/or a streaming gear for tournaments.
Is there anywhere i can buy the necessary components for these tasks? Or is it a case of forums and eBay?
Thanks

You need a harness that plugs in between the pcb and the harness in CAB A, that runs the control, video, and sound signals over to CAB B.
Called a "Vs Harness". Not really readily available commercially I don't think, so probs best to get someone to make you one. I made some years ago, quite straight-forward really.
If you want to project the video, that should be easy enough, you just pull each line for the video plus sync and run it as RGB or run it through a Gonbes scaler which will give you more output options.

I think FrancoB made some too? Not sure if he'll make cables for anyone anymore though. God knows I've already begged him a few times

Sorry, could you possibly post a link? I'm trying to find them but failing, must be using wrong search terms.AeroCityMayor wrote:There are a few on Yahoo at the moment for reasonable prices.

Franco is no longer doing wiring.
I can't spot any on Yahoo currently...

Re: Wiring two cabinets for back to back play
I quickly made a couple this afternoon for a bit of vs play this evening. I was in a bit of a rush to get these completed so I'll neaten things up later as I do like everything to be uniform. I only wired them for 4 buttons but I'll be wiring one of them for CPSII.
If you already have some wire then Arcade Japan has everything else that's required.

Yeah that's really helpful, thank you.
I actually contacted Devil Soundwave about exactly this earlier on today. Once i realised they were actually quite straightforward DIY seemed the way to go.
Thanks again for the images, that will be massively useful

Re: Wiring two cabinets for back to back play
Looks good like that!
I was thinking of creating something simular, except wire 1 side to a CPS2 3/4player pinout.
This way I can play the 4 player games like D&D on my 2 player cabs

Re: Wiring two cabinets for back to back play
some sega cabs have actual VS kits.
the blast city has one that will do exactly what you want, master/slave cab with an extra vga out for spectator screen.
the naomi and newer have JVS versus kits. same thing as above.
there are dyi kits, but you want one that preferably has an active ( powered ) , video splitter.

Do it! I made a cable a while back with the sole aim to for some 3p AvP on two cabs. 4p D&D would be really cool tooPascalP wrote: I was thinking of creating something simular, except wire 1 side to a CPS2 3/4player pinout.

Sanwa has one too. You can probably get it from river service.
