The LCD says: 'Now Playing: Mars Matrix'

I've tried several of the games from the pack in the 1st post, all give the same result.

Got it working, I had to really press down on the boards and press up on the bottom of the daughter board while pushing the bridge pcb adaptor down and then seat the whole thing. This thing is extremely finnicky and I think most of the problem is the adaptor board that bridges the 2 PCB's, it doesn't align properly enough and it pulls one of the boards up. You should consider changing this to a cable.

Ok, I am using a phoenixed progear board, I carefully assembled the boards.

On powering up I got like a light brown kinda yellow screen, but I loaded up a game, and powered off, reseated the board again and then I now get this screen all the time.

The lcd says its playing the game, or I can load up a new one ok.

NB I have a Mac but I used that script to clean the card after loading the rooms on it**.

I think the rom cart is fine and i am guessing that the garbled screen indicates some sort of connection issue? Although everything appears to be seated nicely.

danlane wrote:I've figured it out!! I use a Mac which uses lots of invisible files for indexing with names like ".DS_Store" which I presume confused the board when it was writing the flash memory.

In case anyone else has this issue: put the SD card back in the mac, open the terminal application and type:
Code: Select all

Code: Select all

dot_clean /Volumes/CPS2
where CPS2 is the Volume name of the SD card.

This will remove all the hidden dot files and allow your games to flash properly :)

It's probably the interconnect or rom board that is not connected well or the interconnect is backwards with this issue. Could also be that you need to short EXC5.

Could we get instructions in the first post in where to connect the auto-reset cable? :awe:

It is on the last page of the CPS2 FW Update PDF.
In order to have also auto reset feature, you need to solder a cable between the SWD5 “dot” in the
CPS2Multi which can be seen below and the pin B28 of CN1 connector in the B Board.

Did the auto reset switch wire, works great.

I added Shadow of Mystara but it's not using the Name file for some reason.

EDIT:

It's giving operation failed when I try to flash any of the Shadow of Mystara roms (everything else works great).

EDIT 2: I had to format the entire card and copy over everything at once. It seems anytime I add something it won't work after the initial copy.

I'm working on the auto reset for STV. The programmer will be the same and the upgrading method as well.
