It has brightness pots. Works fine.pubjoe wrote:Received this yesterday. Seller included a harness which was nice.cools wrote:Bargain switcher: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-in-1-Jamma- ... 0#shpCntId"
I tried it with one board connected. I'm getting sound but no video.
Thanks cools. I'm thinking I'll modify a Jamma extension for MVS, attempt to fit your old 4-slot somewhere in the back of the Pony and have it permanently plugged in the switcher - the other side can be the accessible harness.
I have one concern though. The switcher supplies constant power to both interfaces. I guess that the 4-slot manages power cleverly, but still, is it wise to have that plus another board all powered from the Pony's PSU?

Re: Items spotted on eBay
The way the MVS games switch with synchronised attract modes, I wonder if it's using some kind of sleep or state save and distributing power quite efficiently. It might (might) not draw much more than a typical board. This is a discussion for another thread though.

Re: Items spotted on eBay
You're thinking too modern. Why on earth would they bother doing that back when the MVS was developed?
Or in fact, why would they do it today TBH. Efficiency in games systems is not pushed at all.

Just wondering what kind of state the inactive carts are in seeing as they jump to a set point once triggered. It would appear that they're not running continuously in the background.
