However if there is such a thing a modern Japanese Vewlix I have no idea what it's innards look like.
the AMI Vewlix is a Vewlix L.
Indeed, albeit including the same vertical Wei-Yu power supply as the Vewlix F, as this (obviously not clear enough) is referring to.

no , the Vewlix AMI does not come with the vertical Wie-ya power supply. I installed the one shown in the Picture.

the AMI Vewlix is identical to the L

So do the clones lack the Taito audio boards then? This is getting more confusing by the day :problem:

the clones are different in every way, beside most part of the Shell (?).

Taito licensed the Name "Vewlix" , nothing else. So a clone might be a Vewlix but not a Taito Vewlix.

Not sure about the clones that have the Taito Logo, they might have used original Taito Parts for them or they might be bootleg parts (or completly un-licensed Vewlix cabs), i don`t know.

In the end it dosen`t matter , Taito licensed the name for one reason only, to get atleast some money from the clone sales , thats all.

Ah thanks, noted will change original post to reflect this.

I think there's enough specific internal features to be able to tell apart a clone and a Japanese 'Taito' Vewlix, if people want to. I think it's just a matter of being to avoid being ripped off and knowing a clone isn't being pushed as an Japanese original (at a inflated price)

Here's another to add to the list. Although no one would be fooled by it. It's running a PC inside and works out about £500 before shipping.

I'd never noticed, before seeing Johnnychaos's post above, how similar the bottom half is to a Vewlix L.

As in you don't know how to post a picture on this forum or you dont have one yet?

Upload a picture to flickr - or another photosite and once thats done the should be an "IMG" link for it - when your writing a post there's some buttons above the text box including one that says "IMG" - then just paste the link between the two "IMG" tags (text) that appear.

Thanks! Here there are the pics, for some reason the forum can't determine the size of the photos:

In the last one I can read taito in that little board, don't know if that is decisive.

What about this one? Seems too clean to be Japanese, like it was just assembled.
