Well to be honest, my four year old son really likes Splatterhouse (doesn't think it's scary). He also likes Fighting Games like Asura Blade and Asura Buster and he loves Mushihimesama and D&D SOM...he's not good at playing them, but neither am I. He's quite good at Skylanders on the PS3 though.

My 5 years old boy just discovered Shadow Dancer. He's slowly getting through the game, it's a pleasure to just sit and watch. :awe:

My own son (10 months) prefers punishing the stick and buttons while no game is playing.
He also likes watching. He prefers Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, but gets angry when the level doesn't move forward during a boss fight
Deathsmiles bores him, Progear is ok.

Asterix. It's simple, colourfull and the characters are recognisable (you can also claim it's getting them to read the comics! [or look if they are still really young]).

volfied (pcb)- i'd reccomended it over qix as the enemy in qix is quite frustrating and the graphics in volfied are quality ~£40 theres one in sales for that atm. (my mates prefer playing it to bubble bobble or rainbow islands)

spin master (mvs) - straight forward, easy to complete, decent chibi style graphics ~£20

Do you have suggestions for good arcade games that are accessible and fun to play for kids?
Strangely enough, Tatsujin/Truston hooked my kid sister like no other game. It's quite difficult but that didn't seem to deter her.

yesterday, I saw a 4 year old child absolutely hooked by bubble bobble (actually, it was Bobble Bobble :problem: ), naming all fruits he saw and stating "cool", "cool! cool!" all the time. :awe:

I'd have rather played with him, instead I played with a ten-year old girl who was is used to hd-graphics...
Randy and Candy.

Old arcade games are great for kids. The simple graphics and clear action and goals are really appealing. Nath absolutely loved Bagman when he was about 6.

I had my nephew over this weekend. He is way into videogames already, aged 9, but he was still blown away by Metal Slug and Shock Troopers. He also played some Mushi Futari 1.5.
