Rants about arcade ports on consoles
OK, so I'm playing King of Fighters '95, the best in the series as you all know ( ), on the Playstation 2, as it's on the Orochi collection that I just acquired, when I suddenly notice something blasphemous. Terminal Reality, the **** behind the ports, have **** up Benimaru's sound effects. Half of his moves sound like an error buzzer instead of the sound they should. "BHHHZ!" ... This is something I can never forgive, as Benimaru is the real hero of KOF.
Oh yeah, and this crap runs in 480i. At first I was happy with this port as it's like a combination of the MVS and AES versions, but now I don't want to play it anymore.

he's my brother's favourite too. We used to call him Gayguile (pronounced Gagweel) as he looks a bit like a jaunty and festive version of GuileTheRedKnight wrote: Benimaru is the real hero of KOF.

I think the PS2 games are just emulated and in this case not that well. If you have the original, I would leave these PS2 copies alone

Re: Rants about arcade ports on consoles
The Japanese version of this release is quite different from the western one. Basically it tries to do everything right. The reason why play this version is because I like to be able to play the "Single All" mode from the AES version with unlimited credits, with the arranged soundtrack and no loading times. So, it's not bad, far from it, but it's not perfect either, and that annoys me.neogeomvs wrote:I think the PS2 games are just emulated and in this case not that well.
