I really enjoyed Fast Striker (haven't got round to playing Gun Lord yet  ) and its great they're keeping the Neo MVS format alive. :)

Pre-ordered.
Dear customers,

finally we can show our next upcoming game NEO XYX.

NEO XYX is a maniac shooting game.

NEO XYX is the first NEOGEO game ever with a true vertical scrolling screen (TATE*)!

The score system is based on medal chaining and a mild rank system.
Bombs are build by collecting powerups.

- 6 stages with varied and colorful settings
- 6 endbosses
- 16-bit hand-drawn graphics (dot graphics)
- Switchable between vertical (TATE) and horizontal controls (YOKO)
- Maniac shooting game

A first teaser video can be seen here: http://youtu.be/r6VCVOneusI"

The game will be financed by pre sales, the success of the pre sales determines the size of the game, the amount of game modes and other factors. It's currently scheduled for early 2013. Early bird orders get a discount.

More details can be found in the shop: http://www.ngdevdirect.com/" and on ng.com and shmups.com

In the beginning the game will be available for NEO GEO MVS and AES.

* Does support both YOKO and TATE controls

Best regards,
NG: DEV.TEAM

I'm almost tempted to order one just to sell it on a few months after release at a profit.

€400 though? Bloody hell.

I'd want to see more of the game other than that video shot by Shakin Stevens first though before I part with such a handsome sum.

Though NGDev's track record is stupendous so it'll be a great game whatever happens. :)

Yer, need to see a bit more.

Pyongyang makes me think of the sound an elastic band makes when you pull it pack and let it go. As I understand it, this is the method North Korea uses to launch nuclear missiles.

I am glad (and somewhat relieved) you thought about an elastic band there. :)

The graphics artist is a regular over at shmups forum's development hang out, he's extremely talented in the Toaplan style. :awe: In fact, this game is a full arcade re-imagining of his own Game Maker shmup:

No , the game had a score breaking glitch and he promised a free fix that never came .
Also any slight criticisms on the game where met with fierce verbal attacks , it was awesome :awe:

I like the " **** " text balloon on the end , he should keep that in

I wonder about that "free software updates via USB" on the gamecenter kit though. Does that mean the game uses ordinary flashroms instead of mask roms?
This was also a bit strange "May have bruises on cartridge shell. The shells are factory new though. ". Makes you think they bought up some left-over B stock.

These empty shells are hard to find and expensive to make so NG:DEV team bought the left over stock from DavidG who claims he is a former employee of SNK and is the one that sold six " Fake " AES Aerofighters 3 games on Neo-Geo for tons of money via an aggressive Pitbull called Twonk !

Keep up , will ya !

The boards are completely different to traditional MVS, NG:DEV's own design. There's a mini USB port on them for updates. They have the shells made too, they're blue.

I've got my pre-order in. I'm glad they seem to have given up on the pre-rendered graphics, those were kinda bad.
