Thank you for your detailed explanation.
I have no experience with the M68xxx or the CPS2 hardware, but I do get an understanding now what the difficulties are.

As testing in MAME is not enough, you'd need someone who owns a dead, original board, as testing say a Mighty Pang on a Street Fighter Zero board might not be possible (I've read that somewhere regarding conversions - in order to run game A on a board for game B, some modifications are necessary - PALs or something like that)?
Well explaining how to make conversions here would certainly be a no-no, so that will not be discussed. If you have a specific dead board for which we have a set of decrypted ROMs, you can certainly help test.

However, the relative few who understand the conversion progress already may wish to try other ROMs, but no advice will be given for issues that arise due to the conversion process rather than being bugs specifically with the decrypted ROM set.

Thanks, that answered my question; don't worry, discussing the process wasn't my intention just double checking if I properly understand how and what you guys need to go through in order to produce clean ROMs (wouldn't understand the c. process anyways).

Sorry, i'm not a tech head, so some obvious stuff may still be mystery to me.

Yeah, sorry about that, it just kind of happened.

Please feel free to restore your original pics and I'm sure we could ask a mod to split the thread.
