Viewlix Cab F and L Specs?

Post by Hellfromabove »

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone out there knew the specs to the monitors on the Viewlix cabs. So far this is what I know.:

Viewlix F (Red/ High-end model)

Flyer:
http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer ... 78&image=2

Resolution: 1080p
Contrast Ratio: 1:1100
Refresh Rate: ?
Response Time: ?
Power Supply (JAMMA Spec): Equipped
EEFL Unit Inside CP (Back Light For Play Instruction): Equipped
LED-PCB For Lighting Inside Title Panel Of The Upper Part: Equipped
AC Power Switch: The Front & Back
Wood Electric Board Of The Bottom: Yes
Length of AC Power Cord: 3m
LCD Panel: Sanwa LCD
Misc.: Universal

Viewlix L (Blue/ Lower-end model)

Flyer:
http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer ... 87&image=2

Resolution: 720p
Contrast Ratio: 1:900
Refresh Rate: ?
Response Time: ?
Power Supply (JAMMA Spec): Option
EEFL Unit Inside CP (Back Light For Play Instruction): NONE
LED-PCB For Lighting Inside Title Panel Of The Upper Part: NONE
AC Power Switch: Front Only
Wood Electric Board Of The Bottom: Yes, But A Little Smaller Than "F"
Length of AC Power Cord: 2m
LCD Panel: Non-Sanwa - Response Speed Is A Little Slower Than "F" (As In Higher Milliseconds)
Misc.: Only works with Taito Type X and x2 boards (supposedly, don't know why)

So if anyone out there would like to please specify the response time and refresh rate along with any other much needed info, such as Panel Display Type or how far the screen is from the player, that would be awesome. This is basically for people that cannot afford Viewlix cabs but still want the same gaming experience that they provide in terms of almost no input lag, no ghosting, and crystal clear display. I know once I get this info I will be modding one of my Japanese cabinets to have a 28" - 32" HDTV.

Really? That's what the Capcom rep was telling me when I was demoing SF4 on it like early last year.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is because the one down side I remember from getting the L to the F was that you would be getting 720p and not 1080p resolution.

You know, I never tried it but this is the first I've heard of it. Type X2 certainly doesn't support 1080p. I assumed its 1360x768 native. Is TX2 even "720p"? It outputs 1280x768 doesn't it?

Yeah, it does. You have to remember though that the graphics card on the unit is upgradeable so you can get the 1080p out of it. The viewlix F is universal and that is a good reason why it supports the 1080p. The L is the lower end model designed for the Taito in mind and gives the resolution standard of 720p. Who knows if any games on the Taito will be 1080p, only time will tell.

the VGA card may be upgradeable, but you have to use certain VGA cards , example a Sparkle 7900GS wont work as a direct replacement for the NVidia 7900GS (not sure why, might be a driver issue or something)
also the TX2 PSU isn't really adequate for running some of the newer VGA cards IE: something like the 9800GTX or similar even though that card is the best direct "upgrade" to the 7900GS as the 9800 GTX is a newer card that matches and exceeds the same specs of the 7900GS AFAIK

Actually, I remember why I'm making these assumptions, if I run Battle Fantasia at 1:1 there are small borders left and right only.

Vewlix L - http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer ... 87&image=2

Differences:

Nowhere is 1080p mentioned. Plenty of other differences in spec though.

I honestly can’t believe that the F has a 3m AC cord & the L has a 2m.

I think that would be the deal breaker on a L for me lol.

I know right, f-uck the response time and resolution, if I don't get myself a 3m cord then it's just simply out of the question.

the native resolution of the F screen is 1360x768 , neither 1080p nor 1080i is supported.

no interlance signals in general.
