mGalaxy - pure and simple, after trying just about every one out there this is by far the best to me...

It does seem to be personal choice over anything else. Try a few and see which you prefer. Some rib some of them but then others swear by them. I don;t think looking at peoples reviews you can pick one out.

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
I absolutely hate the list style front ends. AdvanceMENU (with larger tiles, using title screens - or a large marquee mode - both require editing the source) is my choice. Ok, I suppose they're ok if you actually want 5000 parents (and clones) all displayed at once... but they're ugly.
Though the XML parser is outdated compared to MAME's current output - so filters don't work.

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
On my desktop pc I just use GameEx. It's nice looking in high resolutions and very versatile.
On both my cabs, of which one has an 15Khz arcade monitor, I use 3D-Arcade as a frontend. I like this frontend very much becaue you can adjust it just the way you want and it looks very good on a low resolution monitor (horizontal and or vertical). And if you have apowerfull PC (which I haven't) you can experience amazing things like walking through a virtual arcade. Really very nice.

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
I'm with cools on this one. I love AdvMENU as it is just so configurable, and I find that you can get to your games in a very short time. This is what will be going in my Naomi.
On my desktop I use MAMEUIFX, and actually was using that in my cab with AdvMAME mostly because of the hiscore support.
On my TV PC, I intend to use MAMEWah as I find it really lends itself to console emulation.

Anyone try Hyperspin yet?
Look like a style over content type jobbie but it certainly DOES have style.

Hi Xenepp,
I haven't tried it myself, but it looks like it might get annoying very quickly after the novelty wears off!!!

MameWAH
I hate all the bling that other frontends come with. MameWAH is no frills, straight to the point.
(about the monitor: I broke the original Polo, which has made the OK Baby a neglected mame cab that nobody wants to play on )

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
Yeah it's pretty good m8, And as you can see, You can use custom back grounds and have some music playin in the background, Also some nice movies of the games playing too before you select them.

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
Think i prefer the dead simple layout of mGalaxy myself, i tend to think that mame frontends often suffer from the same overcrowding problems that plague mame CPs...

Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
I have Maximus Arcade installed on mine, mainly for how easily every other emulator is dealt with.
Well worth paying for.
