Lindbergh and ATX PSU's

I'm gonna spend my Grand National winnings on a Lindbergh and VF5

Because the Vewlix F comes with the **** JVS PSU imaginable, I'll be using an ATX PSU switched to 100V instead. Has anyone else done this?

Which connectors will I be using and will it just plug and play? (I know nothing about PSUs as you may have gathered)

You use CN1 with an ATX PSU (400watt or higher)



I've actually never done this, yet I've told a lot of customers to-do this, as the SUN/NIPPON Lind PSU is more money than a gold bar..

If it was me I wouldn't use a generic PSU if I was given it for free. They will likely be **** components and poor efficiency.

When it comes to building a PC a good PSU is paramount in my experience. I would recommend buying branded rather than buying cheap, finding out it's **** then having to buy better.

Antec, Enermax and Corsair make very good PSUs, Corsair's being top of my list.

I don't see why different principles would apply to a lindy over a standard PC

CN3 and CN1 connectors are linked, so on the Lindbergh PSU both are installed to power the mobo, video, hdd. but considering they are linked connectors a decent 400W will be just as good as the Lind 248W one - all the people I've told have never had a problem.

CN5 is DVD rom power cable - same pinout as GD-ROM drive
CN2 is Midi cable.

The 24 pin ATX connector appears to be the same pinout as CN1

The only difference being the -12VDC not being connected.

Simples. The biggest problem will be fitting all this in the Vewlix

I just tried with my Lindbergh and a regular ATX PSU only on CN1 and works like a charm.

I'm New to lindbergh,I was given one as gift,with multiboot,im using antec vp450,
Power working,jvs i/0,green light ,is there a connector for CN3,I have no video.What am doing wrong . Cn3 ,what is it use for. Is cn1,and cn3 linked.

CN1 & CN3 are for Lindbergh PSU which has these 2 plugs.
If you use a standard ATX PSU, you only have to use CN1 and it works (pins on CN3 are linked to pins on CN1).
